If I had to rank, it would be:

1. The Campfire Headphase
2. Music Has The Right To Children
3. Geogaddi
4. Tommorow's Harvest

then the EPs would be

1. In A Beautiful Place Out In The Country
2. Trans Canada Highway
3. Twoism
4. Hi Scores

Impossible to rank them in order, they are all incredible works. I'm sure it's got something to do with TH being a 'new' thing, but I find it to be one of the best albums I've ever heard. With the exception of "New Seeds" which sounds like a piece many artists could make and maybe included for reasons we'll never know, the rest of it is absolute BoC in the best sense.

I disagree, and I find it hard to believe you don't have a problem with not liking the album because you continued to post off topic things over and over again. I know about the other thread, there's nothing I can do though.

Rodheh, i hate that you've encountered soooo much anger/ malcontent. In my opinion( REMINDER: SIMPLY MY OPINION) , Tomorrow's Harvest is fantastic, simply. Other tones and sounds appeal to different folks. If we take Rodheh's p.o.v. into account could we not possibly view the record from a different angle? Or is that a bad thing on this forum?

It's all a matter of opinion, can you guys understand? BoC put this stuff out for anyone to listen to. Just think for a minute

It's hard for me to include the EPs in this list because I find that they tend to echo the sentiments of the albums they were released before/after (i.e: In A Beautiful Place... = Geogaddi's childhood bleakness, etc.)

So I'll just do the full-lengths:

1. Geogaddi
2. MHTRTC
3. Tomorrow's Harvest
4. The Campfire Headphase

Keep in mind that those albums are all very closely regarded in my mind, but Geogaddi by far takes the cake, even though I can only listen to it in its entirety if I'm to enjoy it as much as possible.

Not gong to rank them, as it's too tough a task. Surprised to see so many dissing Tomorrow's Harvest. For me, it's definitely my least favourite, but I thought I was in the minority. I appreciate what they were going for, and the production is top notch, but it just doesn't have that boc-magic for me. I think part of this disappointment i feel towards it, is due to all the hype pre-release. It does have some gems, but as a whole, my least favourite without a doubt. And I feel bad saying that even

Listened to TH 20 times at least.

I still think tracks 1-9 are amazing, and flawless as a collective.

OP Jacquard Causeway is one of the best tracks. It reminds me of Draun Quarter where the synths develop and start to weep. One of BoC's more emotional tracks.

As a whole i'm kind of finding it awkward to get past the massive change in atmosphere and direction Palace Posy hits me with. The first half is dark and sinister, while maintaining a nostalgic, almost deja vu type feel, only to be undermined by a quirky, playful, overindulging vibe. The album feels like there is no middle. Split your infinities sounds like an epic end of album track that got beaten by Come to Dust and got relegated to it's awkward position.

Gemini+RFTD, Jacquard Causeway. Telepath+Cold Earth, Sick Times,Nothing is real and Come to Dust are up there with the best IMO, although, as a whole i would be currently rating TH ahead of any EP, and not comparing it with old tunes, Boc Max, twoism etc.

So..

The Campfire Headphase=Geogaddi>Music has the right to Children>Tomorrow's Harvest.

those 4 LP's are all pretty good, and by TH being rated last i will say it comes close, but just lacks that something special for me to rate it higher than i have.

i still really believe that the reason this album can be unpleasant or difficult to listen to is because of the theme... what it's dealing with... those feelings like live inside the music. it can be hard for me to listen through the whole thing because of these insidious feelings.

I'm a bit late at the party but since this thread isn't really going anywhere it's time to lock it.

It's not 100% alike but when you start a topic "Where would you guys rank this album in BoC's discog?" this could be TH or MHTRTC for example. By answering this question it automatically sums up ones "BoC albums in order" So, continue here
