Geogaddi
--------------------------------------------
A child with fever, obsessed with mystery.
Number magicians throw dices 66 times,
they roll a 6 ones, making out an answer.
Seeing questions that aren't there,
finding answers that don't really mean anything.
A child with fever, staring at the sealing.
Finding patterns in the random shadows
constructed by moonlight and trees.
Counting satalite dishes in your street,
multiplying by the number of your house.
Obsessed with mystery,
Eliminating everything untill
you got what you want.
You want mystery.

Yes, very well said. :o
I second
Definately. I also enjoy the 'light at the end of the tunnel' quote...I side with boc's statement that Geogaddi is some sort of twisting trial by fire journey or whatnot...

Beautiful, this is poetry.

Great topic by the way... all of your descriptions are beautiful and pretty much sums up the concept of Geogaddi imo.

Geogaddi to me is a look at the sick and absurd world we live in. And the names of the tracks are very nice descriptions of the concept of the album, great great names like "Beware the friendly stranger" and Devil is in the details. Paranoia, illuminati, inocense, childhood, dreams, death, hallunicantions, math, life etc etc.

Geogaddi's my least listened BoC album actually. Not because I don't like it but I rarely have A) enough time B) enough drugs and c) good enough speakers available all at once to do it justice. Plus very few of my friends really get Boards of Canada and Geogaddi is probably their weirdest, most inaccsesable album.

I always see it as like a kiddie ride, like the "it's a small world after all" ride where you go into a huge building in a boat and go through all different rooms, with the broken record "it's a small world" chorus in the background; each song represents a different 'room' in the ride, each having a succinct theme, and corsair is like everyone said, the light at the end of the tunnel.

kind of on topic, i've always wondered, how do you pronounce 'geogaddi?'

i pronounce it "jee - oh - god - ee."
