it took me forever to hear the little 'we have liftoff' sample at the start of the odd nosdam remix of dayvan cowboy

I never could hear the faint male voice in "Happy Cycling" until I read about it on the wiki.

It was also pointed out to me that various Geogaddi songs have a "hidden" color to them. (Purple in Music in Math, red in You Could Feel the Sky, etc.)

ive noticed i havent even gotten CLOSE to being tired of this stuff.

I love em all but if I had to pick one on a musical level and what I get out of it for a listening experience I'll painfully pick Campfire Headphase everytime.

About a year ago I realized that its a xylophone in peacock tail starting at 2min. great little melody too

speaking of peacock tail.. it took half a bottle of whiskey and a nice argument with an ex girlfriend a few years ago, for me to sit back and realize that all the sounds in peacock tail are echoing over and over and over and over in the background.



if you listen to the tones in the song. and follow them and listen to them as they echo away and drift off deep into the track (and i mean deep into the track, listen closely), you can follow them to the point where the echoes seem to disappear (this is around 1:23 in the track).

its strange because when the echoes and background noise disappear. the track really opens up and takes a different emotional turn.

this song to me is almost euphoric in a way. a lot of their music hits me in a way where its more than just sounds, its like an emotional tool. i love peacock tail. its one of their most impressive tracks.

I've noticed this the moment I heard it but yes, it has always been that relation to me and will probably never change.

One thing I noticed is how much I truly love their early work. Twoism, MHTRTC and a lot of the Old Tunes are so amazingly put together and just so nostalgic.

It's amazing. BOC is kind of like wine, put it away for awhile and listen to it again after about a year or two and it will have some very powerful effects on you all over again and you'll even have a deeper appreciation for the one of a kindness that they deliver in music.

I originally realised it was there around the 3:10-3:15 mark, if you're using headphones you can hear some sort of very faint scratching noises. Once you realise it's there and you hear the whole track you can hear they're actually birds. I believe what happens is the music itself doesn't completely occupy the whole left-center-right space and it's a little on the background, so to say, so the chirping being so soft fills the rest of the space but it's not immediately noticeable.

I'm also adding something I wrote in another thread some days ago about a backward melody I never noticed before on '84 Pontiac Dream:

There is a backwards melody at around 01:34 in '84 Pontiac Dream, you can hear it on the left channel. If you reverse it you get this.

Nope sorry but no birdies and that's with headphones on and being a very keen birder. Sounds more like a relic from the percussion. There is a robin all the way through "in a beautiful place" and I have listed a few tracks and the bird species that BOC have used in the thread Are The Sandison Brothers Keen Birders?

Wonderful Singing. Still think this is the best BOC tune by a country mile.

Wonderful Singing. Still think this is the best BOC tune by a country mile.

I'd always thought the vocals in that section were some of the only male singing voices ever audible in a BoC track, which lead me to believe it might have been vocals contributed by Mike and Marcus themselves. I'd like to believe it's them -- gettin' all heartfelt and singing their cloudy shoegaze vox for one of their greatest moments.
