Kevin was on a BBC documentary the other night explaining his sound and reappraisal of the guitar. In it you can see his frankly, outrageous rig which he uses live.

Yeah I had my eye off the ball and missed this too. Always enjoy listening to Shields talking about his technique. Thanks for the heads up. 8)

I was wondering what everyone thought of this unconfirmed MBV demo.
It definitely sounds like bilinda on the vocals but there are some effects you wouldn't hear kevin use under normal circumstances.

I have always been convinced purely on the grounds it has the right feel to it.

I am not convinced man, it sounds too Pumpkins to me. I also think its a little too forthright to be Bilinda's vocals, but I could be wrong.. it's a very good tune nonetheless :)

I know obviously Kevin's time frame is out of skew with most others, but surely this EP must be coming out in the fall or early next year? Also pure analogue cuts of the back catalog sounds spot on, especially as even the best version of Loveless on vinyl (original 91' Creation pressing) is not a tip top pressing in the grand scheme of things. Anyone wanna take a guess on how long this EP takes to surface? I don't reckon we'll be waiting 21 years again.

'..in the fall'?!?

Are they talking Yankee over in Brighton now? Do you make a left on the sidewalk at third and 42nd street before turning on the faucet in your condominium?!? Lol ;-)

A friend of mine, who is kinda in the know with MBV stuff, is friends with this person, he was a mix engineer on mbv, so it's fairly legit information. They have re-entered the studio, on Kevin's birthday, no less. Exciting.

From a legit source, I've just heard a very exciting rumour, which is scheduled for much of 2016...if you catch my drift... 8)

seeing MBV outside sounded INCREDIBLE.

I almost feel like, and I've seen them indoors as well, that playing outdoors suits their sound well because of the sheer volume. I noticed that I could hear more detail in their sound outside and it was so blissful.
