I hope they are QC checking the twoism/transcanada vinyls right now to avoid the issue before shipping.
My vinyls arrived on Saturday. I've yet to check them. Fingers crossed.
I complained to Bleep about MHTRTC. Especially the second LP is clearly off centre and I'm almost certain that is what is a causing a certain rumble that I can hear on the quieter passages.
Most of the vinyl I'm buying nowadays is pressed in Germany, I don't know if it is some kind of coincidence, but I don't remember having such severe issues with records from mainstream labels.

Just listened through TCH for the first time and there are certainly some noise issues with side four. Tbh I was expecting a lot worse, and the extent of the damage is consistent clicking and popping (side four was a lot dirtier than the others too for some reason - a couple of tasty finger smudges).

Inspected The Campfire today and indeed, both disks have a scratch on them. I am disappoint. Will be letting them know soon. Do I get to keep the sticker?!

Is everyone who has the discs seeing these? I can't find anything obvious on my campfire copy: maybe one light curved scratch on side C?, but it's not in the same form as the pictures everyone is taking.

Hi. I just joined twoism to share what I've experienced with the new Geogaddi reissue. Visually things are fine, and for the most part the sound is a slight improvement over the original 2002 cut. However, Corsair is unlistenable. A distorted, ripping type sound pulses in and out with the music throughout the entire track. A similar defect can be found in the middle of Over the Horizon Radar but it only lasts a couple seconds. It's baffling to me why these defects exist as none are present in the original, except for the occasional pop and click that is to be expected from a heavily played piece of 10 year old vinyl.
I've verified the defect on two separate turntable setups and from what I've read here I am not alone in experiencing the horrible mess of Corsair... a piece that is one of my all time favourite Boards of Canada compositions.

I made a recording of Corsair (reissue) and uploaded it to Soundcloud.

corsair is same here, rest of geogaddi is fine.
emailed bleep about TCH as unacceptable and for refund or replacement with corrected
cleaner vinyl. its a very bad pressing. MHTRTC is great however.

That was quick.

Thanks Bleep.
Exactly the same as mine man, same side and everything.
Also waiting on a replacement from Bleep.

I wonder if these problems are only consistent with Bleep's pre-orders for certain regions. could have been a packaging malfunction for a small fraction of the pressings.
I hope when I buy mine from the record store here it won't have that scratch, then who would I return it to? :/

The record store. They'll take the hit, then they'll get it refunded by Bleep or whoever so that they're even too. They might even know about the issue and, if you ask about a refund/replacement, may be like "aww, yeah, man, sure, here ya go, commas, bye"

Well I can only add that I had the same issue with The Campfire Headphase at my local record store in Holland (Sounds, Venlo). They inspected the other copies of TCH just to make sure that I didn't receive a faulty one again, guess what? all the same! They are being returned. They were aware of the issue (corsair) on Geogaddi also. They are being replaced also. When? No one involved knows as of yet. So return 'em while ya can!

I am having issues with my Geogaddi album. There is distortion on several tracks, the only one i can recall right now is 1969, it's really annoying. Should I contact bleep?

I imagine the brothers and Warp/Bleep are really unhappy about this, but why no official word? Their silence speaks volumes. They've really missed the boat with this one, they must have made a killing off all these, and now the people who waited long for a chance to enjoy these records on vinyl have been seriously short changed. I hope there is some official word from someone representing the band on this, pretty sure they are annoyed fans are receiving poorly mastered copies. I think it could potentially be a total repressing for TCH at least..
MDG got any comments from the band on this?

Got MHTRTC today, there's a defect on side B near the start.
Photo:
Looks like a bit of white paint or paper on the vinyl. Very easy to hear this of course.
Anyone else got something like this?

I think you've been unlucky there. My reissue MRTHTC is fine. Same rules apply though - return to place of purchase for refund/exchange I assume??
And yeah, this is something of a disaster for Bleep / Warp isn't it? Such a pity

corsair on mine has similar distortion -- but it goes thru both the left and right speakers for me, not just the left channel like in that soundcloud. it could be that my turntable/amp are crappy, though? although maybe just this one song is mastered poorly.

Hi there
We are sorry you have experienced issues with your pressing of The Campfire Headphase.
Warp and the manufacturing partner have identified a problem occurring late in the repress run of The Campfire Headphase resulting in a small percentage of the pressings being below our usual quality standards. Resolving this for future pressings and making sure that the replacement copy that we send you is perfect is going to take a few weeks.
We expect to be able to despatch a new copy of the record to you by mid December.
We apologise for this delay and will keep you up to date with any progress.
