i forgot to mention special request's album "soul music" too, which warrants a mention. also oneohtrix.
that mbv record was pretty amazing at first, like, holy hell, they actually did it, but as it's mellowed for me i've been less enthralled :/
also can we talk about how beyonce just totally dropped that album last night out of NOWHERE

It's been a bit of a vintage year for music. So much stuff I've really loved. mbv is just outside my top 10. I should go back and listen to it more. At present it still reminds me of a difficult time when my Mum terminally ill and my Dad was falling apart. I still struggle to listen to it even though I know it's ace.

Not bought much music this year. Being skint for the most of 2013 has been a ballbag.
Out of the few I have picked up:
Inspectah Deck, 7L & Esoteric - Czarface
The Physics House Band - Horizons / Rapture
BoC - TH
Flamingo Pudding – Mountain Bike Adventure Kid
The Haxan Cloak - Excavation
Sunken Foal - Friday Night Syndrome Vol II
Machinedrum - Vapor City
Kinesthetiac - Holy Shit I'm A Werewolf (Pt. 1)
Adrian Younge feat. Ghostface Killah - 12 Reasons To Die (Deluxe Version)
Satelliti - Transister
James Blake - Overgrown
Fuck Buttons- - Slow Focus
Clark - Feast/Beast
And you know what? I haven't heard one second of any of My Bloody Valentine's - MBV yet. Shame on me. I need to sort my act out.

Todays 10 in no order (assuming BOC is a given)
Holden -Inheritors (Modular fun)
Bibio - Silver Wilkinson (Not sure works so well as an album - covers all his bases)
Ricardo Tobar -Treillis (sort of Boards vs Natahn Fake esque)
Uziq - Chewed Corners (classic classic IDM -loving this right now)
Jagwar Ma - Howlin' (Baggy/Kompakt)
Waxahatchee - Cerulean Salt (Mazzy Star esque I guess)
Gold Panda - Half of Where You Live (Just works as an album for me)
Evenings - Yore (preffered this to Four Tet -similar thing tho probably way less cool)
Daniel Avery -Drone Logic (Pretty straight acid/techno dance - sounds like Underworld Rez/era in places)
Jim Guthrie - Takes Time (Pop for the car)

These are the only albums I've bought that were released this year -
BoC - Tomorrow's Harvest
Jon Hopkins - Immunity
Mogwai - Les Revenants
British Sea Power - Machineries of Joy
Nils Frahm - Spaces
Ulrich Schnauss - A Long Way to Fall
Mostly great, Ulrich Schnauss a wee bit disappointing.

Completely understandable, hope things are calmer now. Yeah it's a great album, like all MBV records its more revealing after repeated listens.

I did the Top 50 songs of 2013 over at the
2020k Blog. Lots of Twoismers included. I also did the Top 3 indie electronica records over at
Netlabelism. The Top 10 songs basically mirror my Top 10 albums.
The top three albums one has Kinesthetiac and Nyetscape and Blank Banshee, for short.
Scyye recommended that I check out the Saturday Index album. Have been streaming on and off Bandcamp (Hi, if you're reading this one...), loving what I'm hearing so far as well.

Surprised to see the amount of noise acts in the Quietus top 100.

Boards of Canada - Tomorrow's Harvest
Darkside - Psychic
Atoms For Peace - Exai
Those were the only 3 i really liked this year. There was a lot of mediocre stuff by bands like Arctic Monkeys and Daft Punk which got way too much critical acclaim.
