That video was great. Thanks for offering the reasoned analysis. I'm really digging all the new multimedia videos/podcasts etc illustrating their music. Breathing some life into the 20 years of messageboard stuff.

Good stuff, man. Thanks for your work and your thoughts. I absolutely 10000% think you're right about the uncanny valley thing. Often I think rather than stating things directly, they leave things up to human interpretation, speculation, etc, but I think the implications are very intentional. Even though the sample definitely sounds like it's from that metromedia spot, I always pull English words out of the cut-up confusion in this track.

Thanks a lot! It was my pleasure... Except for that kinda nasty revulsion I felt from continual exposure to the uncanny valley. Ha!

So I managed to write a crappy program that can kinda eliminate sounds that are only in stereo left or right. Thing is the panned sounds generally have some mono component to them so I can't completely isolate the vocals with this method or anything, but I think it's interesting nonetheless. It actually works better with other songs, like some of the Beatles' stuff. Maybe I'll post my results later.
Nice, what'd you write it in? Mind if I could have dat source code?
Sent you a PM
