Couldn't agree more. IMHO, this isn't just the (easily) standout track of the album, but quite possibly their best ever. It's beautiful.

I was genuinely surprised reading the other poll – about favourite tracks on TH – when this didn't win hands down. Each to their own, I suppose.

Still loving TH and listening to it regularly. I lie somewhere between 8 and 9… can't decide if it is actually my favourite album or not.

Least favorite BoC work by far.

Half the tracks sound like throwaway stuff from years ago, (they even admitted using old work).

Some of the sounds are cool, i like the interludes and the ambient stuff more than the actual songs. And if you like the filler more than the songs, that's not a good sign.

Maybe one day I will be able to appreciate it. Maybe I expected too much. That comes with the turf though of being so many people's favorite electronic group.

Great poll idea. Hard for me to put a number on, but I ranked it alongside just their works (among everything else in the last few years says nothing interesting really). For me, the music minus the messages/themes is somewhere around a 7-8, but the messages and themes push it up to 9, at least right now (I've got a lot up at 9 tho cuz I'm wacky). I get the feeling in another year that'll change, there's not a lot of my fav BOC feeling in it (children brand of happiness).

I gave it a 5 but that's only in comparison to other BoC releases. I would use the analogy that Brazil finished last out of the final four teams in the World Cup but being the worst of an elite class is no bad thing. I don't know how to describe it, I guess I would say if you imagine Geogaddi like a straight beam of orange light, the straight orange line is blurred a lot with a surrounding glow but, for me, Tomorrow's Harvest is too linear and doesn't have enough glow around the beam. God, that's an appalling analogy but there you go.

Ok, if I'm looking for music which can make to me an emotional "punch" to the guts, or even, when I'm "punched" emotionally in life and I want to listen to something, it would be totally Tomorrow's Harvest! Not any other Boards Of Canada album have that emotional weight and bond that Tomorrow's Harvest have, even more, I think Boards Of Canada here, found a key from my deepest fears and dreams, which leads, that I can find a key from my the most deepest answers. I would not talk musically about differences between other Boards Of Canada albums, because I realised, that I can jump over musical palette, which maybe would not be my favorite, to the dipper meaning of the track, so it become more than just a music, in fact this factor was almost in every Boards Of Canada album. So to give a score, this would be a 10, I find, that to me is very important that an artist is releasing new music! And this was very important step for the band.

Well, it remains the best album of 2013 for me. And I heard pretty much everything worth listening to last year, which btw was the most overhyped and overrated year in music in living memory (MBV, Daft Punk, The Knife, and half a dozen mediocre electronic or "experimental" albums). Still, that's more than can said about 2014, which has been a fucking snore-fest. My music listening in the last 6 months has dropped like 80%, lol.

I love Gemini, my favourite BOC opener (Ready Lets Go being #2), White Cyclosa, Jacquard Causeway (is slowly getting there... a bit like the track itself), Telepath, Cold Earth, Palace Posy, Split Your Infinities (the spaciest thing BOC have ever done), Nothing Is Real, New Seeds (I've probably listened to the first 40 seconds of this more than any intro in history, I'll be astounded if it's never used in a film) and Semena Mertvykh. Transmisiones Ferox, Sick Times, Collapse, and Come To Dust are also worth a mention.

Reach For The Dead, funnily enough, is my least favourite track, although I love the last minute.

The only legit criticism I can throw at Tomorrow's Harvest, both then and now, is the Video Nasties synth tracks, three of which I can't imagine NOT being on the album, could perhaps have been better served in a BMSR-like side project or EP. I also hope Mike and Marcus go balls-out on the next album, take more chances without losing any of their accessibility. But even if they don't, the fact I don't have a clue what direction they'll take next is impressive. I reckon they'll attempt their version of a Cocteau Twins album (Mike talked about dreaming up an amazing CT track) from 1983-1986. Seefeel's remixes on "Otherness" might offer a decent idea of what that would sound like. But those were mostly latter Cocteau Twins.

Overall I wouldn't put TH above or below any of the other albums, likewise when comparing the EPs and bootlegs. One day I prefer to listen to this album, another day I'll go with that album.


One last thing. Anyone who somehow doesn't 'get' this album yet, listen to it while looking at the Twoism artwork and imagine it's the artwork for Tomorrow's Harvest. This album totally works as a soundtrack to an imaginary Science Fiction story.

For me TH is BOC's best album by a distance. Utterly unique, and likely to stay that way. I don't see many flocking to copy its aesthetic in the same way as MHTRTC.

Boards of Canada has said they want there music to be immediately likable but also to be full of rewards that come with repeated and closer listening. Tomorrow's Harvest really opened up for me and I am now experiencing those "rewards"

there is so much subtlety in this record... it just goes DEEP. it sounds like the tone of the percussion and synth voices (especially the tight arpeggiated figures) are living things that weave inside and outside the entire record.

there is a lot of "rate the records (sometimes in specific order!)" on this website which I see no value in.

I liked it enough to get the CD, and it's definitely better than Campfire Headphase, but as a whole, it doesn't fully captivate me like Geogaddi and Music Has did. I like that this album returns to the dark side, and has alot of creepy samples and layering, but there are a handfull of tracks that seem just too simple, which isn't like them. My absolute favorites are Jacquard Causeway, Palace Posy, Collapse. Transmisiones Ferox, Telepath, and Split Your Infinities.

As time proceeds I start to feel that TH is a kind of musical take on piecing together society as it is today to reveal inevitabilities and possibilities about its future. Something akin to brave new world by Huxley. I wouldn't reference 1984 because I don't like it in comparison and it is essentially just a retake of Huxley's work with a bit of a shock factor (Orwell being a student in his english class, no less).
