Circle came from BoC's official website circa 1998/1999. Pretty funny to think that there was a time that they shared some of this material with us, isn't it?

So BoC's website had 2 different circle samples? The sample he's talking about is only 16 seconds, whereas the one on rareboc is 35 seconds and isn't as high-pitched.

I've not heard both to compare. Off the top of my head, has anyone stretched the 16 second version out to 35 seconds without maintaining pitch? How do they compare?

I'll see if I can do this now. I also notice that one is the reverse of the other. So I've reversed the 35 sec one and now I'll compare it to the stretched-out 16sec one.

Edit: yeah they're clips of the same segment (when the tempos and directions are matched) but they sound different, the rareboc one is muffled or something in comparison.

I see this ^ does it definitely say that?

Also
The rareboc one is canonical

It does say this. You can it hear the clearest the last time (18-19 second mark). This makes me put on my eyeball popping face.

sweet. baby. jesus.
they all sound very real to me, and if these have been around for a long while and MDG has said nothing of them, i'm going to say they're real too

that other weird Geogaddi thread ended up getting disappeared (and not just modded) by Aesthetics after a 30 second clip of Circle got posted to it. People are getting punchy around here

I was the one who made that Soundcloud. The version of Circle I posted is the same as the released sample, except I doubled the sample rate trying to make it clearer and reversed to where it sounds vaguely like the melody from Smokes Quantity.

Circle.
He was talking about a second 16 sample on the page versus the longer sample. Where did the shorter sample come from? Is it just part of the larger sample or from somewhere else?

EDIT: Never mind.

Where did these three tracks originated? Surely that could somehow tell us something.

MDG's lack of any kind of response is really disappointing.

usually all of you guys are way faster at catching this kind of stuff than i am.

so im kind of shocked that im the first person to bring this up.

whether its real or not, i never heard focus on the spiral until reading this thread a few moments ago. but as soon as i heard it, i realized that its a slowed down version of audiotrack 8a from the 35 random tracks tape.

you guys be the judge.

No, it's not. It lends to the fact that it could be real. Fakes get dismissed real quick... In all honesty who knows though.

We can't expect him to appear every time we call his name. He'd have to quit his day job. :)

Track 8 contains a sample from June 9th except much faster.
from BoCPages. So if you're right and that Soundcloud sample is real; then that means Focus on the Spiral is an early version of June 9th?

Except the supposed "Focus on the Spiral" doesn't have the exact same drum beat. From my little experience with samplers, the drum beat sounds subtly timestretched to give it that slack, metallic sound. It could be part of the same drum loop, but it doesn't sound too similar

your right. after listening again i guess i got myself confused and rushed into a quick conclusion.

but i realized that focus the spiral sounded familiar because it has the same drums as june 9th. not audiotrack 8a.. thank you guys

That is what drew me in when i first heard it (must be 10 years back or more).
The drum pattern had BoC written all over it.
If this was a fake then it was a very very good one... especially when you factor in that it cropped up such a long time ago.
I remember finding the 3 tracks along with Godever (later became r35tt a14).

The correlation between this 'Close3' and that tweet, and the fact mdg hasn't commented on these... I'm actually starting to believe these are real. (Even if they aren't this 'Focus on the Spiral' is great)
