Wow you're bad. By this definition listening to their music would count as masturbation and we'd all be gay.

HA! When I first came across this topic I immediately thought of this part from their Wire mag interview.

My friend's girlfriend is good friend's with the brother's cousin. That's a few degrees of separation and I would still not divulge publicly anything I know about the boys (which isn't much). It's called respect and I guess they are surrounded by people that respect them and their right to privacy.

I met one of the brothers, briefly, at a wedding back in 2012. It was only well afterwards that I found this out as I had no idea at the time. When I expressed my astonishment and then my anguish that I hadn't realised, our friends in common laughed and expressed disbelief at the obsession that's shown towards the Sandisons.

I remember reading about Terrence Malick a while back and it mentioned that someone else in the film industry found out he'd been working in a particular studio and wanted to go and visit it. When told that Mr Malick had departed already he said that he just wanted to stand in the room where the genius had been at work. I think it's tempting to think, 'Wow, I was in the same room as one of the Sandison brothers, I'm truly blessed' or something along those lines but a bit of perspective is needed. Mike and Marcus are prodigiously talented and I'm just as fanatic about the music as anyone else but they're just two men. They do the things we do. They go to the shops. They drive around. We're in a bubble over here at Twoism and we pore over everything they do but the average shopkeeper or person on the street is either unaware or doesn't care enough to 'spill the beans' - in any case I can't imagine there are any beans to spill.

I go walking in the Pentlands and I can't live far away from where the brothers relocated to in East Lothian. These are beautiful places and they inspire beautiful music and that's what we should be thankful for.

If I were to find out one piece of information it would be the identity of Ice Core Drilling that Marcus refers to in his list of favourite films.

i don't really know what people expect. i mean, if you did know them and know of their fame, what would you come here to tell us? what would you know that you would expect us to care about?

i mean, i really like their music - obviously - i really like a lot of music. but i don't really particularly care about ANY of the questions posed in the OP and i also think it is probably unhealthy to care about such things. i think, infact, that if they were aware that this conversation had even taken place, it would be pretty unsettling.

to put it simply: i don't care what cars / houses / breakfast cereals my *best friends* buy - infact, i barely care which cars / houses / breakfast cereals I buy - so why should I care about such trivial details of a band's life??
