Has always annoyed my girlfriends but it tends to feel weird not to do it, especially if I've been made aware of it.

I can always put some effort when it's worthwhile.

You know, I don't think I'm ever not tapping my feet/legs to some music in my head..

I have the one leg shake. I wonder if any of this has to do with the ideas behind that "personality type" thing.

I still think it has something to do with the sound inside our brains.
Also, the poll is pretty definitive isn't it?

Yes. Constantly. This is what I have:

I'm sure some of you who are jittery have it as well.

yes I do shake my legs, more like a sit down tap dance. And I also cant stop drumming or tapping on things, either along to music or unaccompanied.
It does annoy some people.

You mean like up and down while sitting? Yeah, doing it now.
Interestingly (and I'm not patting myself on the back, I'm talking about others), it's a trait I only see in creative people. Not too common with the average Joe when I go out and about (but someone in any given crowd will be shaking). I remember when I was young my mother and I would talk about it and we thought we were the only ones doing it.

I've noticed that it's something people do while bored so that they have something to capture all the attention they aren't devoting to what they should be. I consciously make sure that I do not form a habit of doing so, because it's a waste of focus that should be put to useful things.
