Seeing as we don't know what Cat 3 sounds like (probably for good reason, if it ever saw release it was just friends and family)... I'm willing to bed they didn't sound too great at 13 haha

Sort of makes you think though, why did they even list it on their site back in the day if it sounded bad? Plus they apparently repressed it on CD in 1997 when Twoism and Hiscores were already out. So maybe all of their older stuff is actually good? Just my two cents

It has been discussed to death on here, though no one knows for sure of course.

Maybe it does kick ass. Maybe it is the work of young craftsmen in the making, disappointing in light of their mature work. Maybe these releases don't exist at all and they were made up as some sort of fake backstory, or a joke (this has been suggested before).

I'm more inclined to think the second. Prodigies they may be, but making work at 16 years of age that would live up to the standards we expect even from hearing Old Tunes and R35TT, I just doubt it.

I mean they're only human, and it isn't just about talent (which I am sure they have plenty of), it has taken many years to build their skillset.

I dunno guys......doesn't seem like a bawbag......seems.......pretty much legit. scammers / spammers and trollers always leave a shitty trail but this guy.......just reeks of honest.

If you grew up in the suburbs in the early 80's, there are elements in this guys conversation that will hit the same chords the BOC music does. It was a magic time because it was our childhood. Nothing fancy or mystical about the specifics really, when you break it down.. but to look back through the lens of memory, there's something lost back there that you didn't even realize you had. You take these things apart, they're not that appealing.. you put them back together and there's that certain feeling. That feeling will haunt you some day in your life.

Davie Addison is a great piece of music, really nostalgic feeling to it, imagine how it might affect this guy listening to it? (assuming he is legit of course)

Hearing his stories of their childhood antics was too uncanny with the feeling their music arises. I take a break from the internet and then tales like this show up? They're just minor snapshots but they've definitely provided an important part of the Mike and Marcus puzzle. I adore how normal they are.

Wow.

If the brothers read this forum, they're probably either very impressed or terrified. or both.

I see no reason those guys could possibly be terrified by this. Probably little more than a "heh" each time someone figures something out that doesn't pertain to legal shit.

That windmill definitely does bear a vague resemblance in its sound's pattern to YCFTS and I wouldn't be surprised if that influenced the sound they created, though at the same time the final sound is slower, considerably more spaced out and sounds like something stretching and breaking as opposed to machinery. Still, move the first bit of this back a little and slow it down, you get almost the exact same pattern as the very beginning of the song.
