On 'The Children's Prison', it's in BoCs official remixes playlist from Youtube.

correct, the song file being passed around that the OP is calling fake is "Poppy Seed (Reprise)" mislabeled as "The Children's Prison". So really it's not a fake, it's just incorrect labeling. The official BoC YouTube channel must have enjoyed the video David made and so featured it on their channel instead of finding the same song elsewhere on YouTube, even though the video they chose did not have the actual song name listed.Torn n Frayed wrote:Stavorius wrote:On 'The Children's Prison', it's in BoCs official remixes playlist from Youtube.
IIRC the music is BoC but vocal sample was added afterwards for something else...
This has been bugging me since it was first uploaded. It's a nice track regardless so I'd be happy to listen to more work from whoever made this.zeoevil wrote:I still really want to know what this is.
Agreed. If you look at the channel that uploaded this, it was made only a few months ago, and this is the only video they've uploaded. It confuses the hell out of me. I think it's likely a fake, though if mdg were to come in here and say it's legit it wouldn't shock me.Skimming Stone wrote:This has been bugging me since it was first uploaded. Much like a certain live recording we all later discovered was completely legit and that most likely uploaded by the band during a stay in New Zealand.ScienceGuy wrote:If you look at the channel that uploaded this, it was made only a few months ago, and this is the only video they've uploaded.
woah that's cool, seems like it could be legitJango9 wrote:To be fair, this hoax (until proven otherwise) appeared under pretty much the same circumstances:

Could well be, everyone mentions on that thread how convincing 'Found the Way' is. They are saying it sounds really similar to a track by Data Language Systems, but I can't get a hold of any of it to listen because old thread = dead linksOmikron wrote:Could it be from this Closes v1 'leak'?

They have done the same on other videos too. They're clearly very interested in BoC's early work, maybe they're a member of the forum?Omikron wrote:I came across a comment by Herz HZ, the YouTube account that uploaded Found The Way, on a video that claims to be Stry Craty Bya. The comment says 'Eno Test', which we know is an unreleased marumari track that is sometimes mislabeled as Stry Craty Bya. Interesting that the same account is both debunking fakes and uploading fakes.

That particular fake Acid Memories has been floating around for years. Pretty frustrating since it actually fooled (and continues to fool) a pretty substantial amount of people into believing that Acid Memories really is just a compilation of tracks that got released later.ScienceGuy wrote:
So this is an obvious fake that was uploaded a couple weeks ago, and I recognize most of the tracks. However, the last track that comes in at about 23:14 (after Nlogax) is dope, and I ain't never heard it before. Anyone got a source on it? Nevermind, found it. It's an Autechre track, which I suspected.
