Re: Touring rumor
it all depends on the environment. I've seen Aphex at Reading Festival it was messy drunk riot, seen him at The Barbican Hall and it was monk-like and respectful.
Re: Touring rumor
We might as well have our own sectioned off pit while we're at it. As much as we complain about people talking in the crowd of the live BOC bootleg recordings, imagine what would happen if we were next to some screaming drunk girl going on to anyone within earshot about how she used to say her name was Melissa Juice in college.warphead wrote:Can I just say, in the most sincere, loyal, honorable and polite way possible. If any tour from BOC ever, ever happens would it be possible to some how engineer a way that twoism and watmm members could at least get first dibs.

Re: Touring rumor
This is true. Although I'm not sure I'd want to see BOC in a hushed, theatre atmosphere, in my experience most electronic acts that have beat-driven songs benefit from amping up the volume, danceability and 'liveness'/looseness/improvised nature of their songs. The superior live version of Telephasic Workshop is a good example of this.warphead wrote:it all depends on the environment. I imagine BOC live as a full-on messy psychedelic riot of lights and visuals with live instruments thrown in and subtlety out the window, even though this has no relationship to how I individually listen to BOC's music.

I'm sure the crowd racket's not so bad in person.... Can't see a boc show getting rowdier than an afx one really... Crowd bootlegs always have that problem.
If anyone's too loud I'm sure standing next to the speaker stacks can cure that, deafness notwithstanding....

Re: Touring rumor
As much as I would loved to see them, I don't think it will happen, I've learned to set low expectations and just get suprised by the brothers.
Re: Touring rumor
That's a wise way to be. I think if they announced something it would be detrimental to my health, I'd probably melt with stress until I got a ticket lol.RVeldhuis wrote:As much as I would loved to see them, I don't think it will happen, I've learned to set low expectations and just get suprised by the brothers.

Still, social enough to have chattering people arroundEctonaut wrote:I never really got the hype about BoC as a live band. I mean, it is not as if they are doing much on stage and I am too easily bored to spend an hour or so watching two guys on stage behind mixing gear surrounded by noisy and drunk people. Sure, it is the music that matters and I could just close my eyes and listen, but from the live recordings I've heard so far (e.g. ATP), it just sounds too noisy with all the people chattering and so on which would truely annoy me. I don't think BoC music is very social music, I nearly always listen to it alone with head phones. If I want live or social music, I'd listen to something else. The only positive thing I could think of with a BoC concert would be the potential to hear unreleased material or alternative versions of tracks. Of course, if it would be something more stylish, i.e. not the average pub gig but something more decent such as a concerto style event or small event like the desert stunt in 2013, then I would no doubt attend if I can.
I think their set would be extremely psichedelic with heavy interludes and ocasional live instruments, like I love, loud and intense, but heavy enough to have some time to come down

Re: Touring rumor
I don't think they would let a leak go on for well over a week without MDG coming here, specifically. I just don't see it happening. Here's what gets me. They didn't feel like being live fit their music in the past. So Imagine how they might have felt during the live shows they did do. And listen to the live-only pieces they belted out. That's BOC not even in their element. Random example--Echus2. While not even in their own element. Hell, almost half of ATP for that matter. Man that is freaking ridiculous.

Well that sort of already happened. Remember Neutral Milk Hotel ?warphead wrote:Just imagine the most reclusive band in the world, who's albums are already legendary and steeped in psychedelia, the occult and The Apocalypse going on tour?
