Yes, I agree. It's sometimes feels almost like coming down from a trip in a sense "Whoa what I was doing last night? It was really me or not..?" Or maybe this all Tomorrow's Harvest hype was nothing but a mass hypnosis? Too many questions, too little answers, tho the one thing for sure that the music it's still there and it's open for your judgement

i don't really get OPN, not a fan of stuff too digital and computer generated, samples ok, but really need to gel and not sound contrived. its interesting OPN but not human enough for me.

Thanks for figuring out a way to describe kind of how I feel about OPN too. It's missing the human touch.

I agree. Technically it's great but it doesn't have any good songs on it. There's no feel.

I haven't listened to a lot of Warp records from this decade - my listening habits are all over the place and lean towards jazz and ambient - but Tomorrow's Harvest is my #2 album of the decade, so it's obviously my favorite Warp album. elseq 1-5 is close though!
BoC have a narrative and emotional depth that few can touch, and that gives them an edge. There are plenty of albums that, song for song, are better than TH, but none (save for Let England Shake) are better as albums. BoC are just really fucking good at making albums!

its a very good album but trying to say its better is a bit pointless.
one interesting thing to do is go on bleep and search for popular digital download. The list is of current releases but low and behold music has the right to children is in the current popular list even now.

I do like Tomorrows Harvest (a lot) but as an Autechre fan (not a watmm fan boy, so I don't worship everything they do) I think Elseq is a masterpiece. Yes there are some tracks on there which are hardwork and a bit dubious but there are tracks on Elseq 1,4 and 5 which are mind-blowing.
Tomorrows Harvest in comparison, sounds a lot like treading water.

i love exai, have that amazing vinyl box set plus l-event ep, but never get in to elseq very much, have only elseq 5, i actually heard them live not long ago, this was elseq tour i think, it was ok

I'm pretty sure if you asked BoC over a pint or six who has the best music via Warp in the last decade, they would say Autechre.
Nothing on Tomorrows Harvest required the fan to shift from their comfort zone or to think outside their box. That's the problem when you only release one album every decade, you start digging yourself into some fucking hole, where everything you release seems like some fucking iconic message. I'm guilty of lapping it up. I'm a fully paid member of BOCult.
Autechre have dodged this trap by releasing music consistently splattered with brilliance but also with not so great music, so whenever they do something there is not a WW2 searchlight directed at them. There is the genius trick. They can release something like Elseq and all their live sets and shove it right under your nose, but because its Autechre and not Boards of Canada, most of you don't see it. It merrily passes you by. How can fans of electronic music not seem to mention the genius of Elseq? And the progression that Autechre have sustained throughout their career? They hardly get a mention here lol.
The more BOC hide away in their secret kingdom the more the pressure mounts. Thing is with them, hahah, they seem to deal with it better than almost anyone else. That's their genius I guess.
PS I'm fucking pissed lol, but that's a good thing

relax man, we just have our little debate here about the best WARP music this ten years, everyones opinion is matter
exai is one of the best albums, it showed how experimental music can be to me, tracks like irlite gheto, fleure, prac f, bladelores...even if elseq is better, which i believe it may be, it's still not enough to conquer the TH, my opinion.
TH delivered on so many leveles for me, that i even will not start with it.
next boc release will be interesting.
why don't release a follow up ep?
