It's not always for a movie, but Forest Rangers do controlled burns on forests all the time, to avoid future fires. Plus, I'm pretty sure a forest fire is a necessary part of a forest's ecology in the long run. I would have to think that for Lord of the Rings, they used a part of forest that was scheduled for a controlled burn. Otherwise, that's pretty fucked up if they allowed it.

Get your facts right Cupz, the destruction of the forest has NOTHING to do with the beauty of the trilogy, but i do regret that it happened.

I am currently living in the north of scotland close to Inverness. the beaches up here are awesome, and last winter in between xmas and new year, myself and 3 pals went far out into the sand dunes and watched the sunset and the stars come out all to the backdrop of campfire headphase and a abeautifulplaceoutinthecountry ep.
oh and we had a fire going which was absolutley essential as it was about -10 Celsius

Also known as Braindead. [1993]
Good quotes:
"Your mother ate my dog!"--Paquita (Diana PeƱalver)
"Not all of it..."--Lionel (Timothy Balme)
"Stand back, boy! This calls for some divine intervention!"--Father McGruder (Stuart Devenie) to Lionel, as he leaps to battle undead hoodlums
"I kick arse for the lord!"--Father McGruder
"They're not dead exactly. They're just...sort of rotting."--Lionel to Paquita, about his sedated residents in the basement

Growing up with three older brother's in the late 80's early 90's I have seen it all. I saw that when I was about the same age, 9 or so. Hahaha, good times.

Sounds great - I love getting up North when I get the chance. A mate of mine went up to the Tartan Heart festival up there a few weeks back and had a great time.
