Considering NEVERMEN posted it, we can't say for sure it was up to BOC to share it. Anyone have insight on that? How does ownership work on a remix when BOC were hired guns to recreate someone else's work?arvy wrote:love this trax, legit boc material, but i was asking myself last night, why it took boc almost a year to share? it is probably the source for the original remix, so why? is it some mind chess game?
the percussion, tho..
and that modular synth bliss, auuuu
agreed, there was probably some agreement(?) bewteen nevermen and boc, tho, this instrumental version almost unrecognizable from the original nevermen trackryetronics wrote:Considering NEVERMEN posted it, we can't say for sure it was up to BOC to share it. Almost? It's now a completely unrelated piece of music!arvy wrote:this instrumental version almost unrecognizable from the original nevermen track
I would imagine the term remix is required by the label for marketing purposes.arvy wrote:agreed, there was probably some agreement(?) bewteen nevermen and boc, tho, this instrumental version almost unrecognizable from the original nevermen trackryetronics wrote:Considering NEVERMEN posted it, we can't say for sure it was up to BOC to share it. the intersting thing, that Last Walk Around Lake (remix) does sound like TCH out-take, while NEVERMEN remix doesn't..Yes, it has that main synth-line from Split Your Infinities, but any who listened to those both know, that they are just different, the feel of the track is different..Peacock Tail wrote: For instance, Last Walk Around Mirror Lake (Remix) doesn't relate to the original at all. If anything it sounds like a TCH out-take. (At the end it even fades into a 'demo' version of itself as do many TCH tracks.)
My sentiments exactly. TH was very stylised and focused on mostly on a particular set of subjects but it is in BoC's and any true musician's habits to create a vast variety of different pieces on the emotional spectrum. We caught glimpses of this at the end of new seeds and palace posy to a certain extent and I am sure they exist and are continuing to be made especially considering that from the perspective of most people, fatherhood is an emotional rollercoaster taking them to levels of emotion that almost didn't seem possible before. I am looking forward.tonx wrote:Here's hoping they have an album's worth of this sound sitting around... outtakes too cheery for TH? Maybe an EP?
I've got to admit the original remix didn't grab me and it's not that it was in any way bad, but the vocals just weren't my thing. This though I've been able to give a proper listen and I love it. It's way up there in the stuff they've done since TCH. Very refreshing sound for them.tonx wrote:This makes me happy. I thought folks were sleeping on the original remix a bit hard for not liking the vocals. This feels like some virtuoso shit from the brothers and a good portent of what might come.

I don't think they're quite done messing with social media randomness (I'm expecting that Seven Forty Seven video to get posted to Twitter any day now), but I feel like some type of release is getting closer. Fingers crossed! I really hope they can get out of their own heads a little next time - I love TH but I completely understand it's divisiveness, it's definitely its own little world that you could be really hot or cold on depending on your taste.vballs wrote:I do love the original remix with vocals but hearing it without?fecking beautiful craftsmanship, its hard not to hit repeat after hearing it.
Please is there a new album this year?
