I believe you are correct on that one. I'm not sure how to upload mp3 or wav files so that people can directly play them, but I uploaded my findings to my google drive. If sped up and pitch shifted a couple of semitones, it appears to be a distorted voice saying something along the lines of "we hate you". If you cut the second half of the song and reverse it, you get the same message.

All I know about that sound is it's creepy as hell. Sounds evil, especially at 0:48.

Interesting. I always assumed it was just samples of marine mammals (whales or dolphins using echolocation, appropriate for a song called "Diving Station") slowed down, sped up and otherwise altered.

Now I have no idea.

There's definitely amplitude modulation on that sound, either from a ring modulator or a tremolo effect. Some tremolo pedals won't go fast enough to get that sound, while some ring mods won't go slow enough. But the Moogerfooger Ring Mod works, and here's my quick attempt at recreating that sound. The source sound I'm running through the pedal is a mix of white noise from a synth plus an outdoor recording of a train passing by.
