Statue of Liberty, towards the end, reminds me of something quintessentially Robert Smith, but I can't put my finger on what track in particular. It is clear BoC were at least somewhat influenced.
Edit: Maybe the guitar in the verse of this track (in terms of Statue of Liberty)?
I'll post another inverse example - whenever I hear the opening two notes of the ambient intro to EYDIAB, I think it's the start of the Cosecha signal jingle/ending of New Seeds. It sounds to me like they're from the same source recording and BoC did say in an interview that there was something on Tomorrow's Harvest that goes back to very early days, which most people guessed was New Seeds. Not sure if others have pointed this out before but I think it's a cool little thing if true.

My old roommate swore that Statue of Liberty sounded like some of the music from the video game Phantasy Star III, particularly as the song progresses and becomes more dissonant toward the end. I didn't really hear it personally but maybe it was made on similar tech or something, both being from sort of the same era.
I could definitely see them being influenced by The Cure in general, but nothing of BoCs has ever reminded me of any particular song of theirs (and that's coming from a huge Cure fan) - I guess I'm just bad at spotting this stuff!

i can hear exactly what youre talking about, it sounds like the intro to eydiab leads out of the original recording of the cocesha jingle, that sustained note at the beginning sounds exactly the same. im pretty sure other people have pointed out the weird artifacts at the beginning and end of some of tomorrow's harvest's tracks, but ive never seen someone make the connection to an older song. nice observation!
