I'll swerve I think. I love XYZ, but as I already own the original Peel sessions vinyl release, £14 to own one extra track would be extravagant. I am tempted though...

Now I'm glad I never bought the original. Will jump on this.

I think it will be BOC Maxima's Chinook because it's *gasp* unreleased.

Nothing. The bocpages track time was wrong. Original broadcast was 8 minutes too.

Oooh. Well I duno about anyone else but I'm super excited to hear the official release version of xyz. I'm gonna wait for the vinyl and have a ritualistic listen ceremony with my cat

It depends whether you consider John Peel and the brothers' chatter to be part of the duration of the track.

Price for the boxset is a bit much, especially for stuff that has been mostly heard already.
Already having peel sessions on CD etc and the fact that the completist in me feels that just getting the BoC one without the others is pointless, I may just skip this.

It's a total jam and I love hearing all the new little details that weren't quite clear enough to hear from the radio rip. Easily one of my top BoC tracks now!

I think the 8:43 version was just the common bootleg 9:38 version again with the beginning interview bit cut out. Pretty funny since the 9:38 version was incomplete too, the version with the beginning and end interview parts completely uncut is 10:17 lmao

tl;dr: the full track is still there, they didn't cut any of the song itself.

Agreed.

Nice to hear XYZ for the first time in a while and all, but as pretty as it looks, I won’t be shelling out.

My vinyl of MHTRTC hasn't got Happy Cycling on it so I'll do my best to preorder this as soon as I get the money.

Releasing a live session from a band that famously doesn't play live that often, replacing the live audio with the studio version is a bit iffy imo. I know it's just one track, but still. "Here's how it could've gone" isn't really in the spirit of it. Pass.
