Yes, I know this is a bump of epic proportions, but nonetheless: I'd like to add that Mike Kinsella's solo work (released under the name Owen) is absolutely perfect for autumnal listening.

Totems Flare by Clark is more dominantly Winter but it's also very Autumn

I work outside all year round and in the countryside, it's hard to describe how significant the seasons and their changes and characters have become in my life, compared to when I had a desk job - I've experienced an whole new sense of the passing of time and feeling connection to the world. Autumn's gone from my least to most favourite season - the previous sense of dread at days spent either commuting in a dark car or sitting in front of a computer bathed in artificial light has been replaced with a sense of melancholy and appreciation of the beauty of the changing landscape.
Global Communication's 76:14 is forever associated with Autumn for me - there's something about it that just captures the mood of the season perfectly. Epic 45's Against the Pull of Autumn is another one.
