I'm in the camp that likes Zoetrope, though it took longer than the other three for me to really like it.

IABPOITC I think is my favorite as measured by "density" of favorite tracks. Geogaddi would be favorite by absolute mass of favoriteness, but IABPOITC is the most concentrated.

In my "signature" below I have links that include multiple versions of a live jazz medley of Kid and Amo that I posted on here years ago. At some point I'd like to do a cover of the whole EP.

I've always loved Zoetrope to be honest, specially the live version, never been a fan of Amo Bishop Roden, though. I've goten hate for this before lol but I just don't really like the synth that much.

I'm with a lot of people that this wasn't their greatest work, but I feel that BOC really established the "concern about the world" part of their personality here. While a lot of IDM artists simply enjoyed the spirit of creativity, BOC were putting some very implicit meaning in some of their tracks.

IABPOITC is probably my favourite BOC release. Feels like a proper story across four tracks and quite frankly Zoetrope is one of the most perfect things ever recorded. It holds some big emotional memories for me.

Merch is part and parcel of the music business though. In terms of income, it probably has the same importance as music releases - possibly more? I'd assume it allows many artists to continue making a living from doing what they love, especially in the age of streaming.

Warp have never gone too overboard on the merch side of things. The Aphex retail opportunity from a couple years back is probably the closest they've been to 'cashing in' on something, but even that was fairly tame in comparison to what I've seen from other artists/labels.

Just imagine if, once those t-shirts originally sold out, Warp didn't choose to re-stock them. Where else could people find BoC merch? Unofficial outlets with 0% royalty payments. Boards clearly aren't ready to release new music, so at least by making sure the Bleep warehouse is stocked, fans have the option to buy merch that can aid the brothers financially, until they are ready.

Less T-shirts and more albums. Those tshirts were created to celebrate MHTRTC 20th anniversary.... two years ago.

I wish Warp sold the t-shirt for the same price "unofficial outlets" sell them for...
