Guys guys guys, I am talking about the song by Puff that was supposedly sampled in Opening The Mouth. I already knew about the acapella mix of Trapped.

I'm not convinced this is a sample. It's extremely similar, but I reckon they made the sound themselves for OTM.

I have a theory; they're similiar because they're both flutes.

I don't think BoC sampled this.

Thanks for all the feedback. I think whether or not BoC used the sample, it's still pretty interesting to see where perhaps they drew their inspiration from, considering the definite similarities between their music and classic psychedelia. I wonder if the boards would even admit to the sample use if asked...

yeah throughout interviews they dont give a lot of detail on music or movie samples but on many instances they were willing to divuldge secrets on how they got the drum noises in telephasic worksop and things like that

i managed to get a download of the entire album. nice stuff. proper meandering. like isb, but a little further down the rabbit hole.

edit: scratch that; flicked through all the tunes. seems a bit more psych rock than psych folk in a lot of places. on a seals and crofts 'summer breeze' tip. decent sounds all the same.
