@MyKneesAreCold and @Cupz
Indeed, the posters (and VHS) hint a bit more towards Geogaddi themes (freaking awesome album). Let's see if the music follows!
I'm also entertained by the idea that it might all go bonkers and there's a invasion of the body snatchers thing going on, with the children possessed by an alien force, or perhaps docility caused by oppressive soundwaves. Yet this all is rather speculative and I don't have any grounds to base these assumptions on.
Better to keep it a bit more objective and spit ideas on what is actually there.
That said, my idea that the posters signify an order has been proven wrong by the latest sighted posters in Brixton, London.

Re: Promo posters
We're getting another soundtrack album. But his time it won't be John Carpenter post-apocalyptic zombie movie inspired, it'll be Lucio Fulci supernatural Giallo themed nightmare fuel.
Re: Promo posters
This, I think you've nailed it. I am expecting utterly mind bending psychedelic darkness and mindfuckery on this new record. We are entering the age of brain atrophying madness. Then the NEXT album will be blissful BOC style ambience (I can dream).zeoevil wrote:We're getting another soundtrack album. I did not know that BoC were big corporate pharmaceutical bootlickers. I also did not know that BoC believed in forced vaccination. Conservatives are not the only people that were applying critical thought processes to a campaign of forced experimental vaccination.

I believe the brothers have very open minds and aren't swayed by group think or political ideology, I just don't think they'd lead an album launch campaign with such messaging, for obvious reasons.Ellis island rejects wrote:Wildfire wrote:The brothers would be utterly decimated if they started spouting mass sterilisation / vaccine conspiracy stuff, given it's generally attributed to so called 'far right lunatics' online, even though let's face it all bets are off in a post Epstein files world. Re: Promo posters
The hypothesized connection to trauma is interesting. As far as problems steering society in the wrong direction now go, it's a big deal. We're all more or less traumatized, look up transgenerational trauma. People aren't as functional as they could be and resort to things like underachieving, procrastination and doomscrolling. It's especially relevant when it comes to children growing up currently because they're expected to resolve with this mess but they're just turning into apathetic TikTok junkies relying on AI to do all the thinking.
Re: Promo posters
I doubt BOC would make the obvious understanding that invasive medical products are bad an explicit theme on their album. If anything this was already worked with on Tomorrow’s Harvest. This isn’t the Joe Rogan Experience… I know how much people love making this position their identity though (because I feel that impulse too) but BOC actually have good taste so I do not think they would produce something to feed people’s egos over having common sense re the horrible response to corona.
I like Cupz’s emphasis on indoctrination in itself. The same person branding themselves in opposition to medical tyranny is also making a podcast, posting on instagram, etc… are they actually working on solutions or selling you something? Satisfying the listener who identifies with them or generating fear in someone who does not? Either way… keep giving yourself over to the screen.

Re: Promo posters
Pretty disappointed in these. They look dated, ugly, and evoke nothing. Second from left is alright.

Re: Promo posters
Btw looking forward to any interviews, if they're really angry they might have some big takes on "current events". They've gone on record having to restrain themselves from making political commentary because it's poorly compatible with being a musician. Maybe this time around they're more relaxed about such restraints
Re: Promo posters
I understand this criticism in the sense that I have zero interest in references to genre… they perfected this with the unbelievably precise, ambient restraint associated with the film scores that influenced Tomorrow’s Harvest. However, I identify with BOC’s sense of humor and believe that is what they are going for here (if they are authentic, which they seem to be at this point).qualia wrote:Pretty disappointed in these. The colors are promising… it is also funny how the more belligerent posters (the second two) are stylistically aligned with Black Moth Super Rainbow.

Cupz, am I remembering correctly that it was you who made the a cappella Geogaddi recording?

Throw away your smartphone.
Re: Promo posters
Wow, thank you. I can hear you singing the opening melody to Ready Let’s Go clearly in my mind.
And on the subject of this thread, I’m going to see a poster today.

Re: Promo posters
can I just say the poster with the brown haired girl irks me a little bit. It almost seems too "polished" in comparison to both the rest of this campaign and the "BOC" art style in general. but eh maybe that is just me.
Re: Promo posters
It’s not just you… it is noticeable. However, I’m thinking about how the initial images from Tomorrow’s Harvest were also polished in a way that was different from their past work. New elements are going to be involved with whatever’s on the horizon.rd1994 wrote:can I just say the poster with the brown haired girl irks me a little bit.
