Here's the sample from the Angel Dust documentary alongside the Capricorn sample.
Sounds more than just "Mabus" to me.

Hmm yeah, it does definitely sound like "marvellous" on the record.

Blood in the Labyrinth samples a documentary about PCP ("Angel Death.")

After watching that documentary (it's great, & features music more unsettling than anything BoC have done!) I sought out more PCP documentaries.

In this one ("Angel Dust") few minutes in this guy says, "It's marvellous!"

https://youtu.be/EaZALZ-bH9w?t=216

Then later he recites the alphabet.

https://youtu.be/EaZALZ-bH9w?t=1208

Sounds like a match?
This is wrong. It's a sample of someone performing anagrammatic analysis on one of the names in Nostradamus's end times prophecies, linking Osama Bin Laden to "Mabus" through an alternative spelling "Usama".
It makes no sense to include "marvellous" when the sample is about the name "Mabus" and has already been spelled out M-A-B-U-S.

It could definitely be John Hogue but this 3rd July 2004 episode of Coast to Coast AM is not the correct source. There is not even a spelling of U-S-A-M-A in there. I've already found multiple recordings of John Hogue where he does spell out U-S-A-M-A, but none of them match the sample in Age of Capricorn.

Yeah, I just realised this on third or fourth listen, haha.

Here's where it starts to really feel like we're crossing into a "new age" of Boards Of Canada. This one feels a lot closer to the stuff they included on the Societas X Tape than any previous BoC release. Singing?! In my Boards?! What is this sorcery?!

Not quite as instrumentally interesting as Leviathan for me but very very nice, captures the feeling of drifting off into space quite nicely. Does that very nice bolero effect BoC are very fond of where they add loads of things in one by one and occasionally have little one shots that never come back, I dig it. Not exactly top tier Inferno for me but a quality addition to the BoC canon nonetheless, closest comparison I can think of would be "Copernicus Landing" by Kid Cudi (which I also quite enjoy!)
If The Campfire Headphase was a butterfly, would Acid Memories be the caterpillar?
Spoiler: show
Unfortunately I have no clue lmao. But while you're here, go ahead and check out some of my tunes! You might dig 'em and stuff!

absolutely stunning and my favorite track from inferno thus far (5-6 full listens in). sounds the first 30 seconds of a new wave or even like ELO power ballad suspended in time in an incredibly boardsian way. very vivid and imaginal

this will always come to be

This is becoming one of my favorites. Absolutely mental the uplift/optimism around the child like playfulness of 'the coming of the Antichrist' samples. So twisted. One of my friends said their kid really likes it and I'm just laughing at all of the subliminal indoctrination.

Not to mention is absolutely beautiful music and composition.

Do we have a source for the Caapppprrrriiiiicoooooornnnn yet? I dont hear it in the Jack Van Impe speech on the WhoSampled page.

I'd guess it's been stretched / treated, but it's so dramatic / evocative / unique. It reminds me a tiny bit (only a very little, and this is wildly mainstream pap so please dont shoot me) of John Standing's voiceovers in Elements by Lemon Jelly

<EDIT>

Possibly taken from the intro voiceover of Capricorn One (
(script at https://www.scripts.com/script/capricorn_one_5032) and heavily treated
I remember when this was fields

I kinda think the first utterance is Mabus, then the second one that follows it is Marvellous

Voice saying 'Marvelous' reminds me of the voice in Telepath ('Don't be nervous').

came back to edit my post, just to remember that this forum doesn't allow editing after some amount of time! nice to be back in such a rhythm. anyway, the sing-song-y nature of the spelling voice reminds me of Whitewater
