My old ag/slsk friend recommended them one day so I checked them out cos we have quite similar tastes. I started d/ling Geogaddi and I'm ashamed to say I thought it was pure shite. Then a year or two went by and I couldn't understand why everyone liked them so much, so I got the full album mostly out of curiousity and I finally twigged on. Now Geogaddi is just the best. Ears are strange things.

I discovered BoC in HMV:!: in 1998. I saw the cover of MHTRTC in the dance section and thought that was an unusual and beautful cover, brought it home, listened to it, and played the colour of fire to everyone. thats when the love affair started.......

I was downloading Brian Eno mp3s about 4 years ago and found 'Eno Test', the mislabeled Marumari track that is wrongly attributed to Boards of Canada.

I thought it was great and started to download more BoC tracks. I didn't discover until later that 'Eno Test' wasn't even a BoC track, so I ended up buying some Marumari material as well. I bought Geogaddi followed by everything else shortly thereafter.

I got the Geogaddi c.d. from a friend of my sister....I was really into Aphex and asked him if he knew Aphex..
He said He was also into this music....He borowed me the c.d. and I listened to it for like 24 hours STRAIGHT(Holliday).After months of listening the album,I asked when he wanted it back....he say`d I could keep it!!
I found a lot of the secrets....I looked them up on the net...and it was all just so mystic....(I was still just a BoC n00b then:P)I downloaded almost every c.d. they made (I`m only missing the few Old tunes e.p`s)
And even bought In a beautifull place outside the country(this is special,becouse I`m livin in a very very VERY poor family,and I never have any money on me:P)
A different factor in my BoC journey,is the increasing intrest in the Surreal...
I loved it as a kid....but I`m so....I don`t know
It give`s me a special feeling....inside!

I was on a friday in 1996 in my local recordshop, and the salesman told me to listen to a release on the Skam label SKA008, my favourite tracks on that 12" are Turquoise Hexagon Sun and June 9th, that's when i became addicted to BOC.

i saw an advert for MHTRTC in a music mag in 1998, but didnt take any notice becuase i never believe the hype. a couple years later i was working in a wine merchants in brighton and my manager put on a cd and played telephasic workshop and i went mental about it, saying that is one of the craziest things id ever heard. i had forgotten about them again until a couple of years later when i was working for the same company but in a different shop in brighton, and my new manager played geogaddi for me on the day of release. i put the album on repeat for 7 hours straight, and since then, i have dedicated myself to looking for all their releases. so began the obsession.

When the Mira Calix, Pin Skeeling EP was released, their remix was the only good track on the EP

I first heard them when a girl I knew very well told me some of her relatives made music. she had the family only casette releases. I don't remember the year but it was around 93 or 94. I liked them but wasn't into too much electronic music at the time. I got into them a while later, having totally forgotten that she was a relative. I'm still close to her and once she asked me what I had been listening to lately and I mentioned that I was completely obsessed with the Boards of Canada. she gave me a funny look and reminded me that they were family. funny day. I remember looking at her original family-only cassettes.

Well in my opinion that show isn't what it just to be, some months ago i contacted "ayko duyster" and asked here if i could send here a good promo i got from a band perfect for here show, she told me she had enough stuff. She's not so openminded anymore like in the old days, she was begging for it those days.

well to be honest i haven't heard it in quite a while (for two years i think) so i'm not sure what the show is right now

It was on Christmas Eve 2003, I was watching a Weebl and Bob cartoon (I've tried looking for it and couldn't find it..), and found the music intriguing (1969). I checked the music info, searched for Boards of Canada on kazaa lite and downloaded bits of Twoism. And my mind has never been the same.

Back in late fall of 2003, I was looking at Aphex Twin on Amazon. I had just bought the Selected Ambient Works series and totally fell in love with them. Anyway, I scrolled down and saw the "customers also reccomend" section. I saw Boards Of Canada's name, gave it a click, and saw the Twoism EP. The first thing I had ever heard by them was Iced Cooly... and it totally blew me away! They did everything I ever dreamt to do in music in just that one song! It was totally lo-fi, out of tune, warbly... and utterly beautiful!

The next day I downloaded all of Twoism, MHTRTC, Geogaddi and everything else I could find! My life has not been the same since.

How did I first hear about Boards of Canada? I don't exactly remember, but I think it was just a name somebody dropped in a review for an Aphex Twin CD. It was in the back of my mind for a while, and then my friend sent me Dead Dogs Two (Boards of Canada Remix). I liked what I heard, so I went out and got MHTRTC, and I've been hooked ever since.
