Hmm...I like it, but there are two changes I would recommend:

(1) Make the image black and white, rather than color, for good visibility. Most hexagons can be solid black, with the others (composing the second "sub" hexagon) deliniated with a black outline, and white interior. Grayscale would also be an option.

(2) Study the packing formation of hexagonal structures in nature. The hexagons, as you've arranged them, are not geometrically placed in a way that would occur naturally, nor intutively.

Honey comb, as an example:


General packing structure:


Perhaps resulting in something like this:

thanks for the suggestions but the whole point really is that the image I created is the one from my dream...I don't really want just any hexagon tattoo

I didn't mean you should do exactly what I illustrated above, but just wanted to suggest some points to make the tattoo graphically legible and geometrically logical. For instance, grayscale/black-white tattoos often turn out better in the long run, and are easier to discern on first glance. Likewise with solid geometric structure.

Anyhow, good luck man! I encourage any and all forms of following one's dreams.
