I don't think secure artists look on forums to see what people think of them.

boc say in interviews that they dont even read reviews for their albums,..i dont think they would seek out messageboards

But I think that BOC created a link with fans that help M&M to "translate" with the songs, the world through the fan-made videos. Youtube has a nice Boc-comunity with 256 videos , that's very good cuz M&M know what people need to express emotion.

They don't browse, and really don't care what we say.

i'm not too sure...obviously i love the mystifying world of boards of canada, which, we the fans have almost created, but...hmm.

i admit to the internet being evil...

christ, imagine if all networks crashed unexpectedly, the world would be in chaos...

maybe with boards of canada accepting something which inevitable they will be the ones floating above our heads whilst we gaze from below.

i've drifted off and this post now makes no sense...my mistake. x

I imagine they avoid this place like the plague.

I think I would prefer it that way anyway.

"More information will be provided near the date in a similarly cryptic fashion"

Or whatever it was.

BOC have had representatives on forums in the past to save them bother. Occasionaly they've been useful, mostly just infuriatingly vague and nowadays they don't seem to do anything at all. COB on WATMM was one who had mod rights and there was another (or the same dude) on the Yahoo group who even offered to take some questions away and get them answered, but it never happened.

I'm kind of glad actually as just saying nothing is better than being mysterious and never answering a straight question. M&M might read but they'd never post as it would just get crazy and they could never be done answering questions, lame or insightful. Also, it's against their general PR policy of keeping it about the music and not themselves.

As for the idea that they post anonymously: I can't see how that holds water. They're grown men with responsibilities and a rich and interesting life by the looks of it. Teasing fans online seems unlikely to give them much satisfaction.

My guess is that that they, or someone close to them, keeps an eye out for anything crazy going on and to get a rough idea about what we're up to. I'd be surprised if they weren't checking on the Red Moon thing in case 10,000 people were planning to turn up or something, though :) .
