I eventually got round to installing firefox. The boc site is still messed up with those errors as it was in explorer!! Anyone got a way around this. Not that I'm missing much from the site anyway :wink: - the last thing on news page is the t-shirts which I'm guessing is still the same.

Perhaps this has been addressed elsewhere, but I was wondering if the music on the discog page is original to the site and not pulled from an album/rarity.

There was a repeating beat, but now there is only forest sounds....

EDIT: It restarts when you go to either the discog or pictures page....

I could really use an update from them....

Well at wojk we got some net-restrictions causing the same effect. I guess you'll have something with your flashplaying abilities going on.
About that beat and forest noizes, Funny thing is you hear the beat AND the forestnoizes, but after a while the beat stops (not a loop since that would cause an off beat skip effect, and there's some lfo variation on it)and the forestnoize loops infinitive (I think; I'm not really able to fully check that because of degenerational features of my life-form.)
Now :idea: . The beat goes on for 229 seconds. It goes 64 measures being 256 steps. ad up the numbers now

229 = 2+2+9 = 13th
064 = 0+6+4= 10 = october
256 = 2+5+6= 13 = 2013

Guess who's birthday that is!!!
Erik Vondanicker would say the next album will keep us waiting for another two years

The 256th day of this year was September 12th, but the 064, as you said, indicates October.
256/64 = 08
08 as in OCTober?

Also, check this out......

Conclusive proof. The next BoC album will be called "L'hexagone", and will be released on the 64th of October (I.E. 63 days after October 1st = December 3rd).

I often wonder how boards of canada could create this amazing music and then make such a generic website. but i guess it's about the music and not the website. so yeah, i guess i answered my own question.

Exactly that, or the turquoise hexagon shaped and slightly nostalgic childhood flash sites were not available at that very moment. :)

it's not that generic, the use of flash is subtle but present.

Plus, it could be way worse. instead of being boringly minimal and undermaintained, it could be buckshotted with ads, strewn messily with loudcolored alarmist artwork and announcements... all kinds of dumb shit. i say we're better off this way :p

hah. much as i might be shot for it, i like the band incubus.
they used to have a lovely site. it was quite a minimal design, all designed by the singer. it had some song lyrics, a bit of news, a band bio written by the singer..
then it got taken down.
and... well... www.enjoyincubus.com

i don't think we should complain :P

i don't think we should be grateful that boc don't have ads and shit on their site.
because if they did, it wouldn't be just a site thing, it would be a principle thing.. they would be willing to do stuff for commercial purposes, and they would be probably releasing their next album on EMI or BMG or sony or something..

anyway i don't usually like talking about these trivial matters..
what matters is the music only..

and i don't seem to be condescending or anything.. it's just that we twoismers can get sometimes (or most of the time) excessively obsessed with things that we shouldn't be obsessed about..

even the little details in tracks, i mean it's cool to point it out... but to be obsessing whether boc are satanists or whatever is pretty britney-spearsish behavior.

anyway here are my 2 cents on this..

cheers :)

I actually had a dream about a new BOC website last night. It was quite flashy (in both senses of the term), and mentioned new stuff: I can't remember what though.

Even more frustrating was the fact that I seemed to be the first person to have discovered this as it was mentioned nowhere else, but for some reason I couldn't tell anybody. Then I woke up.

I'm taking bets that it had something to do with the election.
