I just noticed that his new banner also goes really well with the one at the bottom of the page! It would be kind of cool to update the edges of that one to match the edges of the new one

Exactly. It's a neat effect. It would add more consistency to the page layout.

In case you haven't noticed yet.. Chyld isn't amongst the crew anymore. The banner is unanimously picked by Fredd-E, thedisavowed and me. We all like this design the most, mind that we only needed 2 votes for a winning design.
Even if the banner is made by Chyld, is that really a problem?
