OK, I'll admit reading this thread made me curious. I liked all the talk of the dark factor. Although I really didn't think I'd like it. Guess what? I do. This is why I hate genre labels, because if I hadn't gotten past those I wouldn't have listened. It has a very dark urban thing going and living in Philadelphia all those years I can appreciate that for sure. Not my favorite stuff, but it has it's place.

Milanese's music is not bad, but my favorite dubstep producer is definitely Boxcutter for his debut album "Oneiric". His recent sophomore is quite nice, also.

Excellent review in today's copy of The Independent (national newspaper for those not familiar with it) here in the UK:

"The second album from this secretive south London dubstep avatar is a staggering evocation of the small-hours city. Vinyl crackles putter like rain, deep-in-the-mix samples invoke the fleeting, half-registered bustle of nocturnal life and scattered beats amplify a mood of dislocation. Human warmth, meanwhile, is made manifest in treated, half-heard vocals. It's a proper album, too: as it ends, suddenly, you realise that you've been transported (5 out of 5)

This album finally grew on me about a month or two ago, now I keep coming back to it, loving it more than the last time I listened... I'm so tempted to change my top 10 of 07 last.fm blog and put Untrue at #1...

Burial is one of the best things I've heard the past year. Both Untrue and selftitled are excellent. You know music is great when you should go to bed but stay up all night just to listen to the tunes. Forgive is one of the most intense ambient-ish tracks I've ever heard.

Really not my thing. Liked the first album but the garage vibes and pitched vocals on 'Untrue' do nothing for me. Nice background noises and crackles. I do like a fair bit of dubstep though, mainly the Combat mutant dubstep/electro sort of sound.

Great to watch live. When I saw him he had his bass guitar, a load of pedals and electronic music gear and was switching between them throughout the set.

Digging up an old thread here, but you know when it takes you a while to GET some music...

Burial - I'd heard bits and thought "yep, pretty good, sounds nice" etc...

But hear it in your headphones, walking home, a bit drunk, walking through the city, under the sodium lights, as taxis zip by and the only other people out are people staggering home, junkies and prostitutes.... Fuck, the boy makes sense!

I've had this in my car since I bought it. I think it's one of the most brilliant albums in years.

I wish, though, that they would take that cover art and make a video out of it! That would be killer.
