Drum Machines

Have any of you tried both, using computers for music, and using hardware? Can you say if there is one better than the other? I know it's really a matter of personal opinion but, I haven't been using computers for anything but recording, but I will probably be getting a new computer in the next month, so using a computer is an option now. But which do all of you prefer?

I have. Right now my studio just consists of (at least, here's what I'm actively using...) an Electron Machinedrum & Monomachine, then Sonar & Gigastudio on the computer. There's something satisfying about working with a closed system that helps keep me focused (not to mention it gets me off the computer). For me, being able to spend time away from the computer during the creative process is crucial.
