everything is connected now man, most of our hands aren't clean either...for example, my retirement account options all had defense industry investments and oil company investments
i work at a genetic testing lab, tests for chronic illnesses like cystic fibrosis, etc.

yeah yeah weve heard all about these things, no one will ever find them you know?
well folks until i started at university in september ive spent many years helping the unemployable and unhoused get their lives together, sorting out drug problems, alcohol dependency and debt. I loved it but now im full time design student getting to spend my days with animals at the zoo (drawing them) or with naked men! (yeah drawing them too haha)
am hoping to become an educator of some sort and also to work as a freelance illustrator in the childrens publishing market, thats what my degree specialises in
also im a mum, musnt forget that as its the hardest job of all, but the most rewarding

I'm an odds compiler and trader for a bookmaker. I watch horse racing and football all day and have to produce endless streams of numbers from my head which won't lose us loads of money. Numbers, numbers, BOC, fibonacci, chaos......
And answer the phone a lot, and do stuff on the computer ...
I'm probably the cause of some of the problems of the people you helped Sally. Anyway i'm jacking it all in to go back to University in September to finish off becoming a marine biologist.

cool thread.
i am a map researcher. i bascially study maps all day and determine if structures and/or lots are in flood zones. if they are it must be documented with the base flood elevation or velocity flood elevation. then flood files are made with detailed descrpitions of the flood and where it hits the structure based on site plans and survey's. it certianly isnt the most entertaining job but it can be interesting at times. i work 11-7 5 days a week and it allows me to pursue my true passions. I have only been doing it since Dec. before that I was a bar manager/ bar tender. I got sick of the late night life. I like my days too much.

This time of year is great to read meters, I have the best farmers tan.

The only bad thing is that all the dogs are back outside, I had my pepper spray in hand today ready to get ill on a stray dog. I just got a raise and I have a shitload of overtime hours comming on my next paycheck.

I'm gonna have a mad farmer's tan as well. I just hope I don't die of heat exhaustion out here. It's like 90 degrees at night in Phoenix!

OH.. YEAH..
And the supervisor I was training with today is familiar with Boards of Canada and Aphex Twin. He's a big Magnet fan.. although I've never heard of them. He loves electronica.. it was like instant brotherhood, so to speak.
