Finally got around to it. I watched the first three episodes of season 1. Not too bad so far. I'm hoping it gets better though.

Well, you may not suffer from 90's nostalgia as badly as I do when I watch that show- but honestly, that dream sequence with the dwarf in episode 2 was the hook. So weird, so Lynch.

If that didn't pique your interest... it may not be for you. But stick with it for a few more episodes at least! I really enjoyed it.

I'm hooked enough to watch the rest of it for sure. Including season 2.

Awesome, There's a thread on this! I just dug it out of my movie collection and I'm starting to watch it for the second time.

Also, I remember watching that scene where the midget talks backwards... But it's actually fowards when I was stoned. Trippy as fuck!

I've always thought the entire series, taken in the order of the pilot, seasons 1 and 2, and then Fire Walk With Me, had the structure of a Möbius strip, in relation to Cooper and Laura's separate journeys to the Black Lodge. Little details, like the giggling German waitress we see at the Double R only in the pilot, and last episode--seem to suggest a reality cycle of sorts. Twin Peaks to me, seems to be a model of the structures later explored again (and in different ways) in Lost Highway, Mulholland Drive, and Inland Empire.

Incidentally, the end of 2001 gives me a similar feeling--but Kubrick and Lynch are definitely taking cues from the dream states in Maya Deren's Meshes of the Afternoon.

Full of samples and hints towards Twin Peaks. Not only in the music, but the cover and track titles too. Wonderful album, downtempo/idm/ambient stuff.

Bought the TP boxset a year ago, quickly became one of my favourite shows.

I just finished this. I loved it, but the end was just so damn disturbing that I want to cry!

I just can't stand the idea of cooper ending up posessed by BOB.

I read that if there had been another season, Major Briggs was going to go to the black lodge and save the real Cooper.

Great series indeed. But if Lynch had been allowed to decide everything himself it had been much better..I mean, it such a difference on the first season (where Lynch was head director) compered to almost the whole second season. But because of the loss of viewers thay had to make it more digestible and easy to understand..Everything gets really tacky and silly in the end..

If you mean "Fire walk with me", that film is about what happened before the murder of Laura..

I suffer with you, I have actually just begun to see the whole series for the third time and I agonize over season two and the end.. But I enjoy everything else that is so awesome with it. like:
"where we're from, the birds sing a pretty song, and there's is always music in the air"

i think its well and truly time for another twin peak revisit!

What a depressing way to end.
Lynch should just make a follow up to that, regardless of how the actors have aged. I just need a happy ending.

Speaking of Lynch, I read that there was a rumor about Lynch making a sequel for Mulholland Drive. I'm very exited since it's one of my favorite films of all time. It's not often you see a good sequel but if someone could make one it's probably Lynch..
