Good Lord, this is absolutely brilliant. If you don't download this you need to be shot. The third track is SO good! I'm at a loss for words.

Tell me about it. This is why I'm glad Infected Mushroom moved to the USA, don't have so many mail problems. Meaning less reason for delayed albums.

erm no...
i live in palestine, and israel fucks everything up quite frankly.. my sister got accepted to this thing in in may (they sent the letters in may), she got them january the next year..

and infected mushroom are israeli, they don't have to go thru that shit, they have the control over their mail so it won't actually have to be delayed for a whole fewking year. not to menton that they're kindof cheesy.

palestine is the one who get's fuckt thru this whole equation

someone on xltronic recommended this CD but i have to say i find it pretty shocking to see how much of this resembles the campfire headphase as though you've tried to recreate that album step by step.

here's some advice: if you must use the wobbly pitch shift trick, don't overdo it, and don't use it on every track.

however,i must say that koun v wolf is a really nice track. this sounds much more like something original to me.

I have to disagree. I mean obviously there's some BoC inspiration in this, but I don't think it's trying to directly copy TCHP. To me it has more of a winter feel and the dark pianos give it a completely different feel altogether.

I have to disagree as well.

Sure, there is an obvious influence but not like TCH is recreated step by step. That's a bit overexaggerated imo. It's a mish mash (BoC, Freescha, Kelpe imo) of influences combined with Cilocub his own touch.

On the other hand, if someone manage to recreate TCH I sure would love to hear it! This is and will always be an everlasting discussion for me. For instance: when one listens to a lot of music in the same style he will hear more differences than someone who isn't. I for once don't like hardrock all that much, to me it all sounds the same but I know it totally sounds different for fans of this certain style. When I go more deeply in it I'm sure to hear more variety and differences.
Let's face it, there is a whole subgenre which BoC somehow created, or at least have a great share in.

See this topic on xltronic which is about the same matter. One on Twoism is heavily influenced by BoC (what else do you expect from musicians who meet up on a fanboard) but a lot of entries are unique in their own way. It really is a shame imo that a topic like that is knocked down by a close minded approach to music. I mean, is the Saturday Index track on OoT a rip off of Beethoven because he only used a piano?

Check out Into the Skyland by Renu for example, this will totally upset you I guess because it sounds so TCH-ish. Some effects, beats and phrases of songs on the album are almost simular to TCH. He tried to copy/recreate their sound in every way that it sticks out a mile. In your opinion he is a copycat, in my opinion it's an album of praise.

I don't know why I wrote all of this because we both will stick to our point of view in the end :)

guys, listen to 'slowly turning leaves' and tell me it doesn't directly remind you of sattelite anthem icarus, pontiac dream etc.

I should have been more specific. its not the whole album, but this track sounds exactly like boards of canada, which might be an achievement, but a ripoff all the same.

the buildup, instruments, vocal and pitch effects are virtually identical. how is this 'inspired by' and not 'copied from' ?

i dont mind the fact that he's not hiding the boc influence, i mind the fact that this track is a blatant attempt at doing something exactly like tracks on TCH as if it were a remix or b-side.

Slowly Turning Leaves did remind me of those songs and that's exactly what I like about it.

Only two tracks in and already really liking this release. And yes obviously I can hear stuff that for example BoC has also done in their music... but I couldn't care less this moment. I'm liking what I hear and I know good music when I hear it!

I just got the cd in the mail today. What weird packaging, very unique! I still absolutely love this cd. I still think it fits better for the winter season (maybe that's just me), so I'm eagerly waiting for the first snowfall where I can stay warm inside and put this on, but I'm sure I'll be listening to this a lot all fall too!

I get a winter vibe about it too, maybe even a touch autumn-esque. Hope you received your CD safe and sound, and thank you for purchasing it 8)

I'm so glad I found this music..
Really great unique stuff. I really love it!
And Jeroen, sorry buddy, but I don't agree with you at all.
It's indeed inspired by BoC. But doens't most of music in this genre sound BoC inspired? I think this EP is unique, and no copycat stuff at all.

Great work you guys!
Just bought the CD, thanks! 8)

Hmm, just listened to Koun v Wolf on their myspace page. and it's good, really good. but the boc influences are it are so obvious, it's not even funny. down to the particular synth sounds and everything. makes me a little uncomfortable, to be honest.
