Little known fact about owls--if they are north of the equator they tilt their heads clockwise, but if south of the equator, counterclockwise. Take the owl in my avatar, for instance, which is a northern woody barn owl.

It's all because of the moon. The owl's slowly stop rotating their head until the next red moon. Then they are given paranormal head rotation strength depending on the equatorial position.
