i remember reading about them in highschool. geogaddi must have come out when i was a freshman or something. a substitute teacher told me about them! but i never really got into them until i got to my freshman year in college... 2005. campfire headphase came out and i remember really liking the cover. then a friend of mine gave me a burned copy MHTRTC. i immediately went out and bought a real copy of that and tri repetae. So i didnt really get into BoC until TCH was released. but the first music i heard by them was MHTRTC.

i wish i could say i was an original fan... but i was 11 in 1998. i was too busy listening to bad stuff. i cant believe how long ago that was. i got into electronic music pretty late too. its definitely not prominent in the culture in the US. well, not until Kid A came out at least.

now im catching up on everything ive missed out on. and it is truely doing a number on my wallet!!

I got into them around 2004, I heard beach at redpoint on some random music channel at like 3 in the afternoon when i had the house to myself. it was a different experience.

For me it was the opposite - the electronic elements of Kid A is what got me into Radiohead I had heard them before (Creep, Paranoid Android), but never really got into it. Now I'm a big fan of their as well -- all of their stuff, not just Kid A.

I enjoyed the music that was in Salad Fingers, so I decided to find more about the artist
That pretty much started me on my liking of electronic music.

Sorry off topic, but I don't want to make a whole new topic for this...generally when people refer to the TCH album, does that usually mean The Campfire Headphase or Trans Canada Highway....?

As for me, I first heard Dawn Chorus from David Elsewheres Kollaboration video about two years ago, but the beginning of last year I finally decided to go and find out more about the song. Then I really got into them probably around Spring, last year.

I figure they mean Campfire if they refer to it as an album. if it's TCH EP then it's Trans Canada.

must've been about 2001-ish for me, first heard them in the fence collective's sadly defunct shop in st. andrews. I was about 12 and into massive attack, portishead, tricky, all that stuff. Thought it was pretty cool... didn't really click with me to the fullest until 3 or 4 years ago when I listened to IABPOITC after eating a bunch of liberty caps

Sometime around 2003. I was 14 then, so I first heard whatever my friends burned for me on CDs or what was on Limewire, and then I manned up and paid for the releases.
