another weather nut like myself...im loving the production more than anything..i DETEST the forecaster on more than one track...extremely irritating kind of like that little c**t tycho did on one of his tracks....

one of the best releases on this forum to date..i love it..a pm coming when ive heard the rest of it..

this album is completely awesome, absolutely well done. damn ravine explorer for being so catchy and gameboy over for making me want to play tetris.

Had a quick listen last night, sounds good so far. Cloud Map is on repeat at the moment, lovely song.

Finally got the chance to spin this. Really REALLY cool album! Big Dead Field Overcast, Old Indian Skin, Ravine Explorer, Siren Test, and Crybaby are my favs!

You can tell you put a lot of effort in "aging" the production.

Yeah, I aged it about 4 months after its completion to its release!

But no, thanks dude. I like working on the texture of each sound and trying to fit it nice and snugly between all the other sounds so it doesn't encroach on them. I'm also a chronic pitch-bend abuser

Some great tunes on this one man!

Still I have to play it a few times to let it sink in.

This is all really great, the album flows really well. It is kind of like most of your previous ideas came together to make a much more refined sort of collection. My only complaint is the overall lack of clean sub-bass anywhere. I guess you aren't going for a very crisp sound, but the whole album seems to be stuck in a very bland mid-range. Melodically, I love these tunes, especially "Cloud Map" and "Crybaby" but my ears get a bit bored of the same timbres. But without thinking about the production, it is a very enjoyable album.

your style is vaguely donkey kong country 3 esque, it's interesting

This is true, and it's something I had worried about. I don't think I have ever accomplished clean, deep bass in my music, although I never really went for it either. I know my method doesn't really allow for it - i compress and distort everything as much as I can, I hate having 'clean' sounds of any type in my music because they wind up sticking out too much against the background, but as a result, like you said I wind up without any good bass. Another obstacle is that I've never been fond of deep bass itself, too much of it just makes me dizzy so I lean away from including a strong bass part in my music out of preference.

The more and more I listen, the more and more I like it. I really like the Gameboy-ish sounds and synth.. and the warm feel to the songs. Great stuff.

absolutely love "cloud Map" and "Rain Gauge". this is fantastic stuff! dont worry it about it having to stand up to ulrich schnauss, Boreal Network is its own sound

"ravine explorer" is the standout track for me. it has this real awesome lurchy bass vibe going (kinda like some of the old sonic the hedgehog music used to be), but then this really pretty moby-styled piano comes in and it's such a nice contrast. i also like how, aside from the piano, the track never comes up out of the bass/midrange fog. pleasant tune...
