Not been to many gigs this year cos I'm skint, but Buck 65 and The Bays always raise a smile. Also saw Tinariwen and Mr Scruff. I didn't enjoy the Connect festival but saw Sigur Ros which was great. Can't afford to buy CD's right now.

HI ANS, yeh they are good aren't they? It's odd because in many ways the music shares so much with western rock but is so utterly different and more soulful than what we know as rock music.

I saw Otto Von Shirach play last week, and he was really entertaining. I've mainly been discovering lots of older music this year...just started getting into Sonic Youth a few months ago, so they've been taking a good majority of my listening. But here are some of my favorite LP's from this year:
