The Jacket was promoted as a horror movie, but its really a really nice dreamy romantic and crazy movie. Somehow it made me think of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. It gave me the same goosebumps.

Have you seen Safe? It's about a housewife who begins who suffer strange bouts of illness - but her doctors cannot find anything wrong with her. Soon she starts to believe she has "Twentieth-Century Disease" - i.e. that she's allergic to the chemicals, toxins and pollutants abundant in modern life.

A beautifully told love story. I cried a lot.

Obchod Na Korze (The Shop on Main Street)
I've found this to be the most moving Holocaust film I've seen. I think its intimacy makes the monstrous tragedy somehow more comprehensible, thus incredibly disturbing.

Big Wednesday
I saw this film at a particular time in my life where I could painfully relate to the characters lives (not the specific situations they found themselves in but the general theme of change, of growing up.)

Bakha Satang (Peppermint Candy)
The film begins with the main character committing suicide. We then flash backwards to when he was a happy young man and watch his life unfold.

The Quiet Room
As her parent's relationship disintegrates a little girl decides to stop talking.

The Fountain was incredible. A lot of folks didn't like it, but most every "flaw" or "downfall" anyone's had to say about it, I consider to be its' charm.

IMO, The fountain is the most pretentious, stupid and cheezy disturbing movie for the sheeple I've ever seen.

Pandoras Box. The 1929 version with Louise Brooks. She is beautiful and so is the movie

I have some recommendations myself..

Adaptation. - One of the best movies I have ever seen if not the best, and I mean it. The story contains insane forms of meta-referencing, most excellent performance by Nic Cage, alot of dark humor if you have an eye for it, a true work of art.

The Dreamers - Very coming of age, anyone with an interest in youthfulness, France, the sixties and/or movies is in for a treat.

Valley Girl - This is so bubblegum that you wouldn't believe it. I personally love this kind of stuff. One of Nicolas Cage's first and one of Tarantino's favourites. But not for everyone .

Psych-Out / The Trip - 196X in the sunshine with a handful of LSD. This kinda stuff fed my fascination with the sixties and drugs before I discovered BoC.

Dom Kallar Oss Mods - Documentary, unknown gem as the first part in a series of three about two young drug addicts in Sweden in the late sixties. Sex, drugs and rock&roll.
