I leave Chicago today after more than a month here. America was good to me. My boyfriend lives here and leaving will be hard. We kayaked down the Chicago river, had drinks on top of the Hancock building, went to a Cubs game, recieved a BOC parcel from POLAR SKY, bought Cole (turquoise70 / BOREAL NETWORK) a smoothie at Union Station

.. bought records, travelled to Atlanta, attended a Southern family reunion, saw the North Georgia lakes, fractured my hand at a train station, jogged in the parks, painted a portrait, attended some improv comedy shows, saw the DALI exhibition, went to live jazz clubs, saw Scissor Sisters & Casey Spooner (of Fischerspooner) live, went to the Art Institute (!) and cooked a lot of healthy food.
Currently packing and bracing myself.. I'm gonna post pictures once I get them developed back home

My BF arrives today

..So I will be AWOL for about a month. We're going to spend New Years on the banks of a river in total isolation, kilometers from anywhere and with no electricity/running water. It's going to be wild. Wish me luck!
And to all of Twoism, wishing you an awesome and blessed start to 2011 <3 <3 <3

Awesome, I wish you the best and hope you have a great time!
I just wish I could make my trip to the Northern of Europe someday so I can see the northern lights, but for the next 2/3 years that seems to be impossible, makes me so sad. Because I know it will be a lifechanging event, and that I can die happily after.
It's hard having to postpone things that really matter to you because of financial stuff.

For 3 years now me and a friend have been going to this place with sand dunes near a lake and camping out there, then after a few days we invite a bunch of other people who stay for two days or so, leave, and we spend a few more final days.
The first time was just the three of us, which was really great and relaxing-- we found some other kids on the beach who were drinking and smoking and stuff, which we our third musketeer happily indulge in, but us two decided to stay sober, so the rest of the night was spent babysitting which was pretty fun. Then we went on adventures of many sorts the next days.
Second time we had very little food to begin with, and we were really terrible at starting a fire with what we had (wet wood, a few matches), so we didn't eat for the first two days (or sleep), on top of drinking for the next two days and still eating very little (and no sleep, mind you), and after the other people left we were pretty much all literally insane, what a great bonding experience. Hallucinations were intense by the last day, I was seeing frogs hopping literally everywhere and my body kept experiencing some very strange erratic illusions physically.
The third time will be this summer, god knows what will happen to us haha ._. we're planning to stay for even longer. It really is a beautiful spot, and everything is just perfect. And being lost psychologically like we were, it was really a great bonding experience with nature and each other.

Spenner, that sounds awesome.
Ignaz, it's a piece of wild plot in the middle of nowhere (about 45 minutes from the nearest town on a dirt road).. I spent new years eve there this year, it was totally desolate and the terrain was very challenging to deal with, but it was beautiful.

ive always liked the idea of spending new years eve in wilderness. what better way to start the new year then get away from the shit and just cleanse your mind, then return chill and happy? sounds a lot better than fighting plastic bitches/getting puked on/puking/etc.

Just came back from a two week trip in Canada where I stayed with a good friend, man it was awesome! Stayed in Hamilton but visited and stayed in Toronto and Niagara falls as well (lost a lot of money in the casinos too

). Want to move out there so visited beforehand to get an idea of what it's like there, so much better than where I live in atm.
