It's what got me started.

for me it was music has the right to children. i heard roygbiv and it was all uphill from there.

My favorite BoC release has always been In A Beautiful Place Out in the Country. It transports me to BoCland and is all lush greatness. I rarely feel like listening to all of the Geogaddi interludes whenever I put that album on. Even though Geogaddi has some of the best moments, like the cut up voices in Sunshine Recorder.

IABPOITC shows their pastoral, innocent side. It also hints at their foreboding side which really sparks the imagination. It's totally immersive and instantly soothing.

Geogaddi was the first I heard. My friend gave it to me sayiing that he just found it too weird and to be honest on my first listens, I agreed with him. I didnt 'get it' at all but there was something that kept drawing me back to this strange album. Over time I fell in love with it and my Boc obsession began!

My next purchase was Music Has The Right To Children and that was a walk in the park compared to Geogaddi. I personally think that MHTRTC is the most accessible they have done but all of them will get you in the end

honestly, you could really start from anywhere, it's all awesome.

They're all good - but if pressed I'd say Music Has The Right To Children for the reasons given above. Man I love Kaini Industries and Turquoise Hexagon Sun

For some reason I can't remember I never listened to TCH properly. Until now. I have to say, it's a brilliant album. Perhaps I wasn't "ready" for electronic music at the time. However, my tastes have broadened quite a bit and I listen to most music, from prog and metal, to electronic and hip hop.
Anyway, I listened to it and I particularily liked Peacock Tail and especially Slow This Bird Down.

I saw Twoism cheap at a store. Would it be a wise decision to get that next?



Sidenote; a lot of you seem to like TCH, but when I was on WATMM, most people seem to rank it poorly...do you guys do that too, or is that just them?

Track down the ʻIn A Beautiful Place Out In The Countryʻ EP.

Put its 4 tracks on to cycle.

I'd reccomend taking on Music has the right to children next, if you've not heard it yet you're in for a treat.

from what i've read there's alot of love here for TCH - justifyably so, it's a great record. Each to their own though.

Go back and get Twoism. Get them all, one at a time. There aren't that many albums/eps. TCH gets rated low because it's much different than other albums. For me it's too slow and depressing. I enjoy Music Has The Right more because it's actually fun to listen to.

Twoism. The atmosphere's so thick you can cut it with a knife.

i was about to post that same thing, reversed :p

MHTRTC is striking and lays out exactly what the new BoC fan is in for as they explore the catalogue.

i personally dug TCH a lot more when I had expanded my electronic horizons a bit, the album is organic at top level but deeper down there is a lot of really complex innovative electronics work.

Well I am not really a "seasoned electronic music listener", but hopefully i'll like twoism enough that I end up getting the rest of the discography (I usually only need to the first 1 or 2 releases I get from an artist to commit myself to their discography).
