SKYLINER, i cant believe no ones mentioned these drums. They are the most physically grabbing and powerful that they've ever produced imo. The production on each sample/recording has been beautifully processed, and the balance between the live sound and more sequenced type sound is perfect here. I play air drums to this track a lot, usually to the point of hyperventilating. Its got the energy of a really great krautrock track but much different rhythmically. Ive never heard a rock song that rocks as much as skyliner rocks. when you hear the beat fading in its like jet engines warming up, fucking incredible

woah, Distant Nebulus, you're from Minneapolis? You know me, Skytree, and 88marquis (although he doesn't post here much these days, he's an awesome musician) are all from around that area? Let one of us know if you wanna chill and listen to some awesome music sometime

Sixtyniner. Just sounds so big and are instantly captivating even though it might be just some loop from a drum machine. Instantly draws you into the Twoism EP.

I love Skyliner but at the end of the day it's all about DC (Duelling Cymbals)

I have to say right now I am really enjoying Peacock Tail... Boom-ticka-POP-ticka-Boom-ticka-POPBoom. Love those handclaps

I guess I really like the beats that sound like little things working, like gears or cogs turning and pushing out sounds. Kid for Today, Pete Standing Alone, You Could Feel The Sky... Sounds like that in the midst of your standard drum beats and waves sound really great.
I also really like it when they surprise you with their drums, like with Twoism(song not Album).. After the intro synths the lo-fi drum sound is great, but after a couple measures the full on beat comes in and is really nice.
Those kind of unexpected... or maybe subliminally accurate moments are what, in my opinion, make them a really great band. Like when you really don't know what's going to happen in their music. Every measure of their songs sound so unique; it's an amazing process to listen to their work.

i'm from the southwest suburbs, skytree is from the st. croix falls area, and 88marquis is over in wisconsin, but we're all about an hour from the cities.

For me it would be their remix of Beck's "Broken Drum". The drum work always gets to me especially near the end.

Kid for Today, I love the way that little 'projector' sample fits in - not only sounds great but actually makes me think of blurry old photographs with a sepia tint as i listen to it.
Happy Cycling is another great one.
