Hi everyone.

Andy - the other half of Redpoint - here.
Never tried psychedelics with BoC, but I once got profoundly monged on some smooth weed while trying to write something and listening to Geogaddi. Since then, it's been my creative unlock album whenever I'm faced with a big piece of writing.

The predecessor of that was running on Gamecube hardware, with four people controlling all the geometry and feedback effects. We flew it to Geogaddi and Boc Maxima whilst on a gentle ecstacy comedown. I kept feeling like I was falling into the kaleidoscopic shapes on screen.
When Geogaddi came out I had a long commute by car every day. I found it almost impossible to drive safely during Alpha And Omega. It still makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up whenever I hear it.
That's Jeff Minter right? I was really looking forward to Unity on the Gamecube.

There is NO WAY I could take anything like DMT, LSD etc, I'm a pretty sensitive guy and I'm not sure I could deal with that stuff.
I must admit, I'm completely fascinated by what I've read over the years about psychedelics. My first exposure to such matters was Carlos Casteneda's 'A Seperate Reality'. Interesting stuff.
It was a friend of mine who does psychedelics who told me about DMT. He'd done acid, mushrooms, ecstasy etc, but no DMT. I'm not sure about access to it here in the UK but it' not something you hear about often.
Anyway, see ya around.

Carlos Castaneda rocks my FACE. And Don Juan kicks my ASS!
Yes. I've read the Teachings of Don Juan.. and I have The Art Of Dreaming..

Guys, you won't believe this. But I just Listened to Music Has the Right to Children...
I listened to the entire album in the dark laying on my futon matress bed, which resised beside my coffee table computer...
And I had the most mind blowing transcendal experience EVAR!!... I was FLOATING through the songs, seeing colors corresponding to them, everything was all fuzzy looking.. omg its so impossible to explain... it was like I was drifting through another dimention, and hearing BOC i could create the landscape in my mind.. often i found my spec of counsciousness seated beside some solid thing, and which it would feel akward to myself laying there in bed.
it was such an amazing experience.. i felt like i was listening to this album for 100 hours, literally.. wow.. I love it. I feel like.. rejuvinated in every sense!
rofl, see dex is a good drug!

My first BOC drug experience...

I've been a huge BOC fan for almost 3 years now. Friday night, however, was the first time I had ever listened to them under the influence of drugs. It was also the very first night I took acid. I've had experiences with psychedelics before, namely mushrooms and DXM, and I have smoked a bit of weed every once in a while. So, I was faily seasoned in this culture... or was I?
First, I took 7 hits of acid and smoked some hash. Sat around for a little bit, waited, then a couple friends and I went into this little room with a black light that my friend had hot boxed, where we continued to smoke more. Then, we put on Geogaddi... right as the acid started kicking in.
This was the most insane thing I had ever heard in my life. I've listened to Geogaddi close to a billion times, but I've NEVER heard anything this fucking crazy before... EVER. All the parts of the songs had been broken down and seperated, slowed down, degraded, you name it. I was hearing pieces to my left, some behind me, some to the right, some I hadn't ever even noticed before... it was INTENSE... and we had only made it into Music Is Math by this point.
After Music Is Math, I had pretty much lost all control of myself. I could tell I wanted out of that little room now. I opened the door and we all ventured into the basement... over and over again. Like, a continuous loop. Going up and down these stairs repeatedly. Once we finally got to the bottom, someone brought down the laptop and put on the Twoism EP... and I was no more. Gone. I had entered a realm of pure paranoia. I believed my closest friends were out to kill me. In fact, there was an old salon chair in the basement. One of those onces with the bowl thing you put over your head. To me, it began looking like an electric chair, and everyone was trying to get me to sit in it.
I felt as though I was being attacked in some form by everyone. Every once in a while I would semi re-gain conciousness... but then I'd fall back into this paranoid void again.
We must have made it through the Twoism EP by this point. I kind of remember someone talking about putting on another album. Needless to say, I wasn't really paying attention anymore.
We ended up coming back upstairs, where I layed down on my friend's bed. Then, everything I knew about life had been shattered. Broken down and disassembled piece by little piece... and I finally got it.
Some might say I had a bad trip... nope. This just makes me want to do it again!

I've had a bad trip once, and it was exactly how you described it. And you want to do this again???
Well, it was only bad for part of the time, I lost all sense of time. But, I remeber burying my face in my couch and not knowing where I was. Everything I looked at had a weird, orb like glow around it, and the faces of my friends no longer loooked familiar. I remeber feeling like I wanted to peel my skin off, but right when I thought I was going to explode, I got off the couch, went outside for a walk up my street and got some fresh air and by the time I got back I was back in semi-normal trip state. Needless to say, this scared the living shit out of me and this is why I don't do psychadelics anymore.

you did 7? 7 hits? your first time? im feeling sick even thinking about it. had a bad bender this weekend and am now concidering going totally straight edge. im not sure i can control myself anymore (not that i ever could). but hey, if you enjoyed it, then thats cool.

7 hits is a bit much, I never even did that much at the peak of my use. I think 4 was the most I've
ever done at once. Try 1 or 2 next time, you'll probably have a better trip.

My buddy who gave it to me, we've been dinking around with dex for so long. He had seen how much I can handle. I guess he figured I could handle that much acid.
I dunno. I think now that I have more of an understanding about it, I might be able to do 7 again and be ok... or maybe I'll go down to 5. I dunno... it's gonna be a while before I do it again though...
