I can't watch a modern military themed film without identifying all the brands of tactical gear they're using. Was especially funny in say that new Terminator film. "I can't get over that they're still using Blackhawk! gear in the future..." Plenty of people develop relationships before becoming confident and happy with themselves. Actually I would say that's the usual thing to do, rather than the exception. So I wouldn't rule out the idea completely.
