i must be in the minority.

i've listened to this album 2 times over the past 4 days, and it just won't click with me. glad i didn't pay for it.

Heard it last year when it came out and it didn't click with me at all. However, gave it another listen yesterday and was really into it. I really have to be in the right mood for anything self-consciously psychedelic like that.

Must admit that I don't really hear much nostalgia or mystery in their sound though...

i just put the ep and album combined on shuffle on my iphone and listen that way. innerspeaker as an album really does lack direction and cohesiveness, and there are one or two weak tracks, but most of the tracks individually work really well and really set a mood. i'm still really enjoying their stuff.

really? I think it really flows, all the tracks are really cool, and even the weakest, Jeremy's Storm, works in the album to mix up stuff.

What tracks don't you like that much Hex?

i think the album flows really well, other than the last two songs...i always find myself switching of by then. also, i cant say i see any mystery in the songs...influences from various bands and genres combined to make an unique and enjoyable listen!

jeremy's storm i find a little bit boring compared to the power of most of the rest of the tracks. TBH, i only listened to the LP front to back once, and it didn't grab me the way i expected it to. i really thought the EP was more raw. the tracks on the albums are brilliant, but i just may have felt that it was n't taking me on a journey, so to speak. i think the songs are brilliant in their own right without ibe having to lead into the other.

asides from the odd play of wagonchrist, these guys are the first artists i've listened to that aren't either ambient, drone, or modern classical since the big earthquake. i feel like they are waking me up out of some kind of apocolyptic hades, so i am just enjoying them every day.

bought the album off itunes last night cause I could not find it at any local record stores. best buy wanted $30 for it online, fuck that. But so far I like it, I am giving it another listen today. His voice at times reminds me of Lennon a lot but it's still good.

Check out those souuuuuunds he creates. Is that a digital recorder he's running his guitar through?

Hah sounds like me and my friend with his guitar, keyboard and effects pedal.

we just have noise jams for hours on end just making the weirdest noises.

edit; this is them doing a cover of Massive Attack's Angel;

It actually... really works as a psyche rock jam. Surprisingly.

yeah pretty excited for that, and if you guys haven't heard about them yet, check out the side project of one of the members of Tame Impala, it's in the same kind of sound to Tame Impala.

It's called Pond.

Jeremy's Storm is honestly my favorite out of that whole album. Tame Impala are pretty good but a few of their songs don't seem to stand out for me, of which those few seem just like any other psychedelic rock song.

Also the dude sounds a lot like lennon, but I don't mind it. I just think it's funny

O.K., I just tuned into my local college radio station on the way home from getting a haircut, and they were playing "Solitude Is Bliss"; my first thought was that it sounded very Beatlesesque, and my second thought was, "Shit! This is a good song!"

It seems I will be looking into them more in the future... off to the record shop! :)
