Hey! Me too! :D Love me some Michael Land.

Oh, and I need me some Portal 2. I'm so happy smart games like this are being made. And one with so little violence and such great humor. Smart!

Me three!

I received the game as a gift for christmas the year it came out without even knowing it had been released. Best present ever! I was taken immediately by the music and sound design. The ambience of Puerto Pollo still can't be beat. Blood Island Map and Goodsoup Hotel Exterior are another two top picks. The only other game I've left on in the background for the ambience it makes is Shogun Total War and more recently Shogun 2.

I've been playing Portal 2 slowly... my brain isn't geared towards this kind of game but I love how it's put together so I'm playing anyway. The voice acting is top knotch, too.

Hey... this isn't dandruff!

Okay, now I'm gonna dig up my discs and boot up scummvm. Someone really needs to make another 2D adventure game like that.

I was convinced they'd make a feature length film using exactly the look and feel of CMI. Disney wishes they drew those clouds!

Michael Land also did the music for the latest multi-part installment of Monkey Island but some of that magic seems to be lost. I can't quite put my finger on why.

Bad writing. Bad animation. It's not even funny anymore.

Totaly, I have thoes locations permanantly burned into my brain. I couldnt agree more when you say that the recent monkey islands have lost their soul. Without Ron Gillbert the series seems to have died for me :(

But, back on topic a little... I just completed Portal 2 for the PC after a 10-11 hour marathon.
Such a great game to be honnest, it made me realise that i'd forgotten how good Valve games are.
I'm not so keen on Stephen Merchant's voicing acting in it however.

I wish there was a way to blank out text here, so we can discuss things without spoiling it for others.

Ron Gilbert wasn't involved with COMI.

But yeah, Telltale is NO lucasarts unfortunately.

Dude, I will be adding you shortly for some Portal 2 co-op lol...stupid PS network maintenance
Sounds good man. And yeah, lousy maintenance. Apparently the maintenance down time may have to do something with the hacker group "Anonymous". They were pissed that Sony sued that guy who cracked the PS3, opening up the possibility for pirating games. But Sony announced it should be up within a day or two. So here's hoping it's up tonight. Co-op Portal 2 is awesome!
It's still down. Not fun..I beat the single player yesterday, but only got to try the co-op briefly before the network blackout. Here's hoping its back by Monday!

I really would love to try this out, but hearing so many people talking about how they beat the campaign in less than five hours makes me feel that it's not worth $67. Of course there is co-op too. Just can't bring myself to do it.

Me and my brother went splits on it... was way worth my half ;)

Usually around Christmas they have ridiculous sales from Valve games, seeing as they own Steam, and want most of the credit naturally =P I can sense a 50% sale for Portal 2 around then...

It had its moments! A classic gag that comes to mind is when you look at the socks that are strung up to dry on the pier. "Those socks look like they could use a good darning. *shakes fist* Darn you, socks!"

In that particular area of the map there's some decent Michael Land ambience, outside the glassblowers hut.

I didn't mind the story, the controls really were painful though. The problem might be more about the format; Monkey Island games are long. The short chapter format that Telltale uses doesn't quite have room enough to build the proper Monkey Island magic.

That said, I never got far through Monkey Island 4!

and back OT i'm still making my way through Portal 2. Enjoying the humor a lot and haven't got too struck/frustrated yet.
