Always a good day when you open Twoism and see someone linking your video :D
Really great to hear all those little nuances in such detail!

I was really disappointed they didn't make Geogaddi 2, I guess. Anyway, the only track that gave me the kind of spine tingling sensation I came to expect was "Oscar See Through Red Eye".

It took years for me to appreciate TCH, but now I love it and hold it in the same high regard as I do with the rest of their official catalog. "Oscar Sees Through Red Eye" still remains my favorite track.
I can totally understand why a big fan of Geogaddi would connect most to this song on TCH.

Oscar See Through the Red Eye, musically, has all these tripped out effects popping out nearly every second. Every time you turn a corner there's a new one. The amount of ideas they had for this song alone was staggering.

Also speaking of the Residents, a guy on Reddit claims to have met Marcus earlier this year and he has this to say: He and my brother’s friend chatted about old music equipment and high-end speakers, totally over my head lol! He told me he was jealous I was going to see The Residents as well I started gushing a little bit also about how crazy it was we were sat opposite each other when I’d been bumping his music for as long as I can remember.

I take this guy with a grain of salt but I thought it was interesting that he'd mention that Marcus (real or fake) was interested in the Residents.

They are a band BOC would be into. Complete outsider artists who shelved their second record (Not Available) after recording it and never intended it for release because it was "too personal" and revealed too much about them. Sound familiar? Luckily for Residents fans, they released it (and it's a masterpiece) unlike Hooper Bay and the like.

I named my rabbit Oscar after this track (my favorite from TCH).

He sees through a brown eye instead though :)

So… is this an anagram, a ghostbusters 2 reference or something more ? These guys have meaning in everything. So what is this evil?

I’m sure I remember that some folk thought it was a reference to a video game where there was a rat called Oscar who had red eyes. Although that was pure speculation .

The game was Bad Day on the Midway, a 1995 CD-ROM game by The Residents. Oscar is the pet rat of one of the characters and during his backstory we see a POV shot with his vision tinted red. Personally, I buy this explanation as I can't think of another Oscar seeing through red eyes.

Yes. I had heard of that theory but I’d nether seems or heard anything about that game. After watching that video I think it is more than highly likely the name comes from it given the subject matter.

The Boards of Canada community. Jesus H Christ. You really are deep in the cult aren’t you? I’m glad they’ve abandoned you.

This thread is kind of dumb and should probably be nuked from orbit. A shame because its a beautiful song.

I believe Oscar see through Red Eye might be a reference to a satellite peering through something, the only thing I have to run with that is that Satellites and Space Array systems are usually associated with names like "Oscar, Yankee, Foxtrot.." etc.

Perhaps I've been playing Voices of the Void too much lol

To try to save the topic, has anyone tried to listen to what is going on in reverse? There is so much cool stuff, like an odd synth bass jam and stuff.
