no, not remotely. i like you guys! i was just saying that i always see comments like 'wow, this really is perfect when i'm high', and i was saying that i don't understand that because i feel the 'vibes' sans drugs.

I think part of the power of music is its ability to alter your mood. I don't feel the need to take drugs that modify my mood when their music already does exactly that. Their music makes me nostalgic for various parts of my childhood, and it's easier to feel those old emotions when I have some mental clarity. If I'm not sober, then I sometimes feel older and even further detached from my past self when everything was fresh and exciting without the need for some kind of substance. It ends up being a bitter and depressing kind of nostalgia rather than a fond remembrance.

I feel that music can often take you anywhere that a drug can, but the benefit of a drug is that it can amplify certain feelings often over a longer stretch of time. I think I read in an interview that BoC were influenced by psychedelic experiences, which also helped them to see music's relation to math. The fact that they have an album called "Acid Memories" also gives some insight on their perspective regarding this issue. You definitely don't need drugs to appreciate or understand their music, but I can also see why some people feel that they go hand in hand.
