I have no desire to troll anyone, just excited by what I heard on UK national radio this morning!
Fair enough! Just being here for the last few years has led me to greet news of this type with scepticism ;)

Which kind of supports the rumour that the album was delayed by them having children or whatever. If he is in contact with the band then he would have known about it then and would be up to date now...

I AM STILL EXCITED!

Full transcript for those outside the UK (not sure you guys can listen in to iPlayer??)

Errrrrr, ok…. Who was that?!?
That was..DJ Ease My Mind by Nikki and the Dove….errr.. yeah, it was alright!
That was pretty good, ummm…

I’m gonna play some Board of Canada now, ummm, I’m a bit of a Boards of Canada evangelist, they’re my favourite band, I think.Maybe them and The Beatles, but umm… they are a band, again, a bit like The Fall, it’s like once you get into them.. or rather, once something clicks, you just wanna hear everything they’ve released, and ummm, this track I’m gonna play, it’s from their last full album, which is The Campfire Headphase from 2005… and ummm, they’ve got a new album coming out soon and I think it’s gonna be a double album and I’m so excited.. I really am, to hear their new one…um…. I just love them.
See what you think, if you don’t know them see if they click for you, I’d love to know what you think – Peacock Tail from Boards of Canada.

(Plays track in full)

Nice chilled way to eassse into Saturday morning with Boards of Canada, ohhh hooow I love thee! Ummmm. A lot of people loving the Boards of Canada.. ahh, someone says ‘Of course we know Boards of Canada! We’re 6Music listeners!!’ oh, hang on, that’s just gone up.. ‘Very much enjoying Boards of Canada – Bournemouth from Bournemouth’ now is that the whole of Bournemouth or is it the computer Bournemouth from..ah ha!!.. from ‘Look Around You’ that’s probably what it is..

(moves onto next track which was Missy Elliot)

Thanks for that Mexicola, however people outside the UK can listen to it. Or well, I live in the Netherlands and I could.

I'm never sure. I know the TV stuff doesn't work abroad, but I'm guessing the radio might work? Either way, recorded for posterity before it drops off iPlayer

True, I always have a hard time watching BBC documentaries like Stargazing and stuff like that. Thanks for this anyway!

Friends with the band or not, a lot of the sharper end of UK comedy has links with Warp Films (Chris Morris and Richard Ayoade for a start) so there's a fair chance he could have found out something through that avenue.

Really interesting to hear Peacock Tail through radio-mixed compression. Lost quite a bit of the main melody but the background detail sounded amazing at the end.

If he provided a rumor like this two years ago, I doubt this means anything still as far as a new album coming out anytime soon  I could guess they'd have SOMETHING in the works, but this doesn't tell us anything about timeframe.

I'm expecting another couple of years or more of waiting :D

A double album...

Now I'm going out on a limb but maybe the brothers engaged in some far out concept that would link both albums in such subtly esoteric ways that they spent an inordinate amount of time crafting it?

Does a double album complete their contractual obligations with Warp?
